Laurel Outlaws (13-U) and (10-U) Tournament

Laurel Outlaws 13U Baseball Program Overview

The Laurel Outlaws 13U and 10U team is a program under Laurel Little League, built with a strong focus on player development, teamwork, and family unity.

Our goal is to develop well-rounded athletes while fostering a positive and supportive environment. As a team, we will compete as one and approach every practice and game as an opportunity to learn and grow.

Please note that 13U baseball is played on a full-size field, with 90-foot base paths and a 60-foot pitching distance.
10U baseball is played on a 60 foot base path and 46-foot pitching distance.

Practice Commitment
    •    The team will practice at least three times per week (occasionally more).
    •    Players should expect early morning workouts on some weekends, when possible.
    •    Attendance, effort, and commitment are essential to the success of the team.

Player Development
    •    Pitchers and catchers may be recommended to participate in additional training through private lessons, clinics, or one-on-one sessions.
    •    Players who require extra development may also be encouraged to seek additional instruction.
    •    All costs associated with private training, clinics, camps, or one-on-one lessons are the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

Competition Schedule
The Laurel Outlaws 13U and 10U team will participate in:
    •    A minimum of three tournaments (to keep most in Maryland)
    •    Games in the MADE Baseball League under USSSA rules
    •    Scrimmage games
    •    Laurel Little League games
    •    Little League All-Star Tournament participation, when applicable

Program Expectations
This is a new program, and its success will require support and involvement from both players and families. We value communication, cooperation, and patience as we build this team together.

Uniforms
    •    Players will receive one home uniform and one away uniform.
    •    As this is our first season, we appreciate your patience as we work through the process.

We look forward to meeting you and your player at our tryouts and beginning this exciting new chapter with the Laurel Outlaws 13U program.

Baseball Program Registrations

Divisions of Play

Division placement is determined by a combination of variables including player league age, skill level, prior league experience, prior coach recommendation, Little League guidelines and parent input. The registration application will ask several questions to help us determine the correct division for your child based on these variables. You will find information below to help with this process.

  • Baseball Divisions of Play
  • Divisions of Play (Little League International)

  • Little League Age

We offer many programs for ages 4-16.  The Little League Age Chart will help you determine the "League Age" for your child based upon the month and year they were born.  2025 Little League Age Chart

    Special Division Requests

When registering, select the age appropriate division. If you want to request for your son or daughter to be eligible to “play up” in an older division, enter that request in the special request section on the registration form. Please note, however, that limited play up requests will be granted as our experience over many years has shown that players benefit more from being in an age appropriate division as opposed to possibly having to compete for playing time and not pitching in an older division. Likewise, enter “play down” requests in the special request section.

Laurel Little League reserves the right to re-assign a child to a division other than the one in which he or she is originally registered or requested by his parent. This is done for a variety of reasons: safety, the need for equal teams, for the development of any one particular child, to ensure that each division has the requisite number of players, or for the general well-being of the league as a whole.

    Buddy Requests

If possible and not guaranteed, two (2) friend requests are honored at the non-competitive Tee Ball and Coach Pitch levels.  All kid-pitch divisions are drafted and no guarantees will be made except in the case of siblings.  Requests will be provided to drafting coaches for consideration, however a priority will be given to balancing the level of play across teams before buddy requests.

    Uniforms

For spring/summer programs, each player will receive a uniform shirt, pants, hat, and either socks or belt (depending upon division) which is included in the cost of registration.   For fall programs, players will receive a uniform shirt and hat only.

    Game and Practice Schedules

LLL Baseball games and practice schedules won't be published until after registration closes and team formation is complete.

    Dates and Guidelines

    Registration Dates

For Spring Summer Seasons, Registration usually opens January 1st and closes in mid-March to facilitate evaluations and team selections.   Some divisions could have a wait list before the deadline since we have limited capacity for field space, coaches, etc.

For fall programs, registration usually opens in mid-July and closes at the end of August.  Players play "up" at next year's league age in the fall as it is a developmental season.

There is typically a $25 late fee assessed for any registrations received and accepted after the published close dates.

    Player Evaluations (spring only)

Player Evaluations are mandatory for all league age 8 players and above and will occur mid to late March each spring.  They are usually held at the American Legion Post 60 field located at 2 Main St Laurel MD 20708.  From time to time, other locations may be used depending upon weather or field availability.

    Season Calendar

The Spring/Summer Regular Season runs from March to July.  Teams are selected via draft around the end of March and practices will begin as soon as field conditions and permits allow (typically April 1st).  Games will start typically the third week of April and run through the first week of June with the next two weeks being set-aside for makeups and playoffs.  Following the regular season, some players will be selected to continue play on one of our age-based all-star teams who compete within Maryland District 4 and potentially advance to State tournaments later in July.

    Family Discounts

Each family receives $20 off for 2+ players each.

    Residency Requirement

Your child must live within or attend school within the boundary of Laurel Little League.  Players who formerly lived or attended school within our boundary may be waivered for continued participation eligibility depending upon the situation.

    Refunds

Registration fees will be refunded in full, less $50 administrative fee per player, prior to the close of registration.
