Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?
Registrations costs vary between Spring and Fall seasons. Spring is typically a shorter season, with no tournaments, where as Fall will have Division tournaments, with the opportunity to represent Northmont SAY in the state tournament (TOAST). 

Uniforms/jerseys will be provided along with a pair of soccer socks. Shorts will need to be provided by the parents- and coaches typically prefer black shorts. 

What does my registration fee pay for?
Though we are an all volunteer-run organization, we still have many costs associated with operating our organization. These expenses are what your registration covers. This includes, but is not limited to: field rental, field improvements, league team fees, coach and player insurance, referees, team and scheduling administration and team equipment. Despite these costs, we are still one of the lowest priced soccer associations in the area!

When is registration?
Registration typically opens in January for Spring, and in June for Fall. 

What equipment do I need?
Shin guards, soccer cleats, appropriately sized soccer ball, water bottle. That's it!

Soccer Ball sizes:
Size 3 - the smallest balls and are generally used for children under the age of 8 (Kinder, 1st and 2nd grades)
Size 4 - Size 4 balls are used for players between the ages of 9-12 (3rd-6th grade)
Size 5 - This is the international standard match ball for all ages 12 and older, including all adult play (8th grade through high school)

When do practices start?
Practices typically begin two weeks prior to opening weekend.  Most teams practice twice per week, with games on Saturdays and Sundays. Times and locations vary by coach and team.

Where and when do kids play?
All games are played at the Englewood Soccer Complex, otherwise known as Ward Field. Games are typically early mornings on Saturday through the afternoon to for older divisions. Games on Sunday are held after 1 PM.
