Junior Checklist



  • Send SPECIFIC emails and video
    Videos could spark interest, especially in schools who might not get the opportunity to watch you play
  • Unofficial visits if possible
  • Attend college ID camps
  • Scholarship offers are possible as well as commitments in Division I
  • College Coaches can start sending recruiting emails
  • College Coaches can email, text, and call starting September 1st
  • Coaches can start sending recruiting materials
  • Go to colleges and watch live college soccer games (Division I, II, III)
  • Official and unofficial visits permitted as of September 1st of your junior year, including emails and calls.


  • Continue to do well in school
  • Take PSAT if you haven't already
  • SAT/ACT Prep and Test!! 
  • Continue Extracurricular Activities
  •  Scholarship offers are possible as well as commitments in Division I
  • (GIRLS) DI schools are finishing up commitments & offers
  • DII & DIII schools are in high gear
  • Unofficial visits - Unlimited number
  • College ID Camps
  • Official visits
  • Off-campus contact permitted after July 1st
  • SAT/ACTs completed and evaluated
  • When signing up for senior year classes--stay rigorous!
  • Double-check your transcript to make sure it is accurate
  • Begin reflecting on which teachers you will ask for recommendations.  
  • Develop a “Recommendation Reference Sheet” that a teacher can reference when writing your recommendation
  • Understand how your high school handles college applications

Early decision and early action plans: 
allow you to apply early (usually in November) and get an admission decision from the college well before the usual spring notification date. You know by December or January whether you've been accepted at your first-choice college.
