Welcome to U10 B-4

Aloha and welcome to U10B4 AYSO soccer. My name is Katie Sheldon and I will be your son’s coach. I have been involved with various athletics my entire life. I have coached youth sports for the past 6 years and played/coached at the college level for volleyball. I look forward to bringing my knowledge, experience, and love for sports to the field!

Our practices are scheduled for Tues/Friday from 5-6:15 at McGrew Field, located in McGrew Navy Housing. I will send a drop to all parents later this weekend when I have everyone’s cell phone numbers updated. Please make sure your son arrives on time and ready to start warm ups at . He will need a size 4 soccer ball, water bottle filled, and skin guards at a minimum. I recommend soccer cleats, but they are not mandatory.

We only have 9 players on the team. U10 has 7 players on the field = A LOT of playing time for each child. In order to have effective I need maximum participation at practice. Please do your part in getting them there on time. I know stuff comes up, little siblings need to suddenly go the bathroom as you load the car, traffic backs up, you get a call you have to take before you leave the house, a child is sick, you have a school event that night, etc. Totally understand….please shoot me a text to let me know so I can plan practices/game rosters accordingly.

We need at least one person to get certified as a U10 Ref. My husband, Vic, is certified however he will be underway a few weekends so we need another parent. Please do your part in this all volunteer organization and get certified. The course is sometime next week. I am waiting on the email from Ken. If you would like your child to play on the Silver Select team in the winter or another season, they are more likely to be on the team if you are certified.

Our first game is Sep 9th. All games will be on Hickam, McChord Street across from the Rec Center. Our uniforms are Green. As soon as I get information about games and referee schedules I will let you know.

I will use this news feed to broad cast information about upcoming events. If it is the day of change, I will send a text to make sure you are aware of the change. Also, there is an app for the new web system AYSO is using. It is called Dick’s TSHQ if you want to download it to make it easier to access your child’s team page/info.
