The Interpark League is a unique experience at Clarkdale Little League. The Interpark League is an association of teams from Cobb County, South Cherokee County, and North Fulton County. Teams are placed in districts. Clarkdale Little League is currently in a district with Smyrna Little League and East Marietta National Little League. Teams play 12 games during the regular season with eight of those games being played against district teams. The other four games are played against teams from other districts. After the completion of the regular season, teams participate in a double elimination playoff.
The Interpark League acts as an effective transition to high school baseball. Games are played with a 54 ft mound and 80 ft bases. These dimensions are closer to a high school field, which includes a 60 ft mound and 90 ft bases. The outfield is also larger, with a typical field being 275fit in the corners and 300 ft in centerfield. Additionally, players must swing a heavier bat. If a player is using a USSSA bat, it must be a drop 5 (-5).
During the fall and spring, Clarkdale Little League typically fields two 14U teams to participate in the Interpark League. Depending on registration numbers, Clarkdale Little League may also field one 16U team. During the season, teams usually practice once per week while playing two games per week. During the pre-season, teams practice 2-3 times per week. Practices are no more than two hours in the length.
Clarkdale players who participate in the Interpark League may choose to participate in Little League all-star baseball in the summer. They may also participate in travel baseball in the fall, spring, and summer. The Interpark League's schedule, especially in the fall, does not conflict with a typical travel baseball schedule.
