T-Ball:
2-5 Year Old Tee Ball is for boys and girls who want to learn the fundamentals of throwing, hitting, fielding, sportsmanship and teamwork.
A softer baseball is used during practices and games. In Tee Ball, players learn how to hit a ball off a batting tee, running the bases and learning what the positions on the field are called. In our league's tee-ball program, players hit a ball off a batting tee to learn proper hitting mechanics for the first few games of the season. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of Tee Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork, therefore no scores or standings are kept. Rosters may be composed of between 7-10 players, but our league typically has rosters in the 7-8 range.
Practices are held once per week for one hour, with games on Saturdays. Practice times could start at 5:30, 6. or 6:30pm.
We will not know the practice day or time until registration closes and we know how many teams we have and who is coaching.

Rookie (Coach Pitch):
The 5-9 year old Rookie division is a coach pitch league. There will be 10 defensive players in the field and substitutions will be made for players on bench. Continuous batting order is used so all players on roster will bat. 5 pitches are thrown from a coach with three swinging strikes. Younger players may have the opportunity to take 2 swings off a tee. Scores and standings are kept and there are end of season tournaments in the spring. Post-season All-Star selections are also made at this age. In the Fall, there are typically 2-3 scheduled activities (practices/games) per week. In the Spring, there are typically 3-4 scheduled activities per week. Player evaluations are held so that fair teams can be drafted. Weekday events may not have the same schedule each week in order for all the teams to play each other, however you will receive a schedule in advance.
Depending on the number of registrants, we may play some games vs. other local parks which may require occasional light travel (within 15-20 minutes of Clarkdale Park).

Minors (Beginner Kid Pitch):
This is a beginner kid pitch division for 8-11 year olds (some 10 year olds may be moved from The Show depending on numbers and evaluation results) with no lead offs. There will be 9 defensive players in the field and substitutions will be made for players on bench. Continuous batting order is used, so all players on roster will bat. Scores and standings are kept and there are end of season tournaments in the spring. Post-season All-Star selections are also made at this age.
