Cuyahoga Falls Amateur Baseball Association (CFABA) Rule Overview
The Cuyahoga Falls Amateur Baseball Association is committed to fostering a safe, developmental, and engaging environment for all players. To support this mission, all rulebooks are reviewed and updated annually following the summer season, incorporating feedback from both on-field experiences and community input.
The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) rules serve as the default rules for all leagues in which CFABA participates.
The CFABA Rulebook outlines general league-wide administrative policies and procedures. It includes essential information regarding player registration, age eligibility, and expected standards of conduct for all registered participants.
For in-house CFABA leagues (10U, 8U, 6U, and 4U), specific league rules are included in the CFABA Rulebook. These rules serve as exceptions to the standard NFHS rules and take precedence for in-house play. In addition, one-page league-specific rule summaries are provided below for quick reference. These documents highlight the major on-field regulations unique to each age division.
Teams in the 12U and 14U divisions participate in the Community Baseball League (CBL), which also adheres to NFHS rules (commonly referred to as OHSAA rules). The accompanying CBL rulebook outlines exceptions to the NFHS standards, governing both on-field play and agreed-upon administrative policies. The CFABA Board of Directors reserves the right to enforce stricter disciplinary measures than those outlined in the CBL rulebook if deemed necessary. Disciplinary matters may also be referred to the independent CFABA Disciplinary Committee.
Teams in the 18U division participate in the SCBL, which likewise follows NFHS rules (OHSAA). The SCBL rulebook includes exceptions that govern both gameplay and league-specific administrative policies. As with other leagues, the CFABA Board of Directors may impose more stringent disciplinary actions than those defined in the SCBL rulebook or refer cases to the CFABA Disciplinary Committee for independent review.
