Parent Expectations

As a parent, you play a key role in supporting your child’s development and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable season for everyone. The following expectations outline your responsibilities as a Little League parent:

Communicate Special Circumstances

Inform the coach of any special circumstances or conditions that may affect your child, such as medical needs, emotional factors, or any other important considerations.

Timely Arrival/Pickup for Practices and Games

Ensure your child arrives at practices and games on time, ready to participate fully.

Pick up your child promptly at the scheduled end time for practices and games. This helps maintain the schedule and ensures the safety of all players.

Bring Necessary Equipment and Apparel

Make sure your child brings all necessary equipment to practices and games, including water, glove, bat, helmet, and any other required gear.

Ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather conditions. This includes proper layers for cold weather or sun protection for hot days.

Notify Coach of Absences

Notify the coach in advance if your child will be absent from a scheduled practice or game. This helps the coach plan accordingly.

Assist with Snack Shack Shifts

Volunteer to help with your team’s snack shack shifts during home games. This is an important way to contribute to the team’s success.

Help with Field Preparation and Clean-Up

Assist coaches with preparing the field before and cleaning up after home games as needed. Your support helps ensure the field is ready for play.

Understand Position and Substitution Changes

Recognize that game circumstances may require changes in position assignments and substitution patterns. Coaches will make these decisions based on what’s best for the team.

Respectful Communication with Coaches

Avoid approaching the coach with frustrations about playing time or other concerns immediately before or after a game. If you wish to discuss these matters, schedule a time that works for both you and the coach for a thoughtful, open conversation.

If you have concerns or differences regarding the coach's approach, initiate a discussion in a respectful, non-confrontational manner. Timing and setting are important for ensuring a productive conversation.

By following these expectations, you will help create a positive environment for both your child and the entire team. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our Little League program!
