Parent Communication
Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents, keeping them informed about team events, practices, game schedules, and any changes.
Address any concerns or questions promptly and professionally.
Team Organization
Organize and manage the team effectively, ensuring all players are engaged, supported, and included.
Use the TeamUp app to schedule practices and keep parents informed about any changes to schedules or events.
Game Preparation
Prepare for games by organizing the batting order and field rotations in advance.
Ensure players are aware of their roles and responsibilities for each game.
Recruit Parent Volunteers
Encourage and recruit parents to assist with various tasks throughout the season, including snack shack duties, base coaching, and any other needs that arise.
Understand and Apply Little League Rules
Familiarize yourself with Little League rules and ensure that they are applied consistently and fairly during all practices and games.
Create a Safe and Supportive Environment
Foster a safe and supportive environment for players to learn, grow, and make mistakes without fear of judgment.
Encourage positive behavior and respect among players, parents, and fellow coaches.
Address Inappropriate Behavior
If any inappropriate behavior arises, whether from players, parents, or others, address it promptly and communicate with parents as necessary to maintain a positive and respectful environment for everyone.
Assess Talent and Focus on Development
Assess each player’s skill level and identify areas that need improvement.
Develop practice plans that target those areas of growth while maintaining a fun and engaging environment for all players.
Uniform Information and Distribution
Collect uniform information from parents and distribute uniforms promptly.
Communicate clearly with parents about any additional items they may need to provide, such as pants, belts, or other necessary gear.
Schedule Team Pictures
Coordinate team pictures and ensure that all players are aware of the schedule and required attire for the session.
Snack Shack Duties
Recruit and schedule parent volunteers for your teams' assigned snack shack duties during home games.
Field Preparation
Assist with field preparation before and after games (as needed/requested), ensuring the playing surface is safe and ready for action.
By fulfilling these expectations, you will contribute to a successful, fun, and educational experience for both the players and their families. Thank you for your commitment to our Little League program!
