League Age Determination
Your player’s league age is determined by the Little League Baseball® and Little League Softball® Age Charts. The dates for baseball and softball are different, but each determines the division in which your Little Leaguer will play this season.
At Brown County Little League, we are committed to providing the best possible experience for every player. Our league placements are based on age (not grade level), and we prioritize placing players in the appropriate league for their development.
We will begin by placing players in the older leagues first — Major, Minor, and Instructional. This ensures that players are able to develop their skills at a level that best suits their experience.
Please note, based on the number of players in each league and individual needs, we may adjust placements by moving players up or down. These adjustments are made with careful consideration of each player’s age and birth year, as well as the overall balance of each league.
Our goal is to foster a fun, competitive environment where players can grow, learn, and enjoy the game.

Instructional (Coach Pitch): Ages 6 - 8
Only plays games at Brown County Little League field
Games run mid-May through June
Minor League (Kid Pitch): Ages 8 - 10
Home and away games (regional)
Games run mid-April through early June
All-Star selection at end of season
Major League (Kid Pitch): Ages 9 - 10
