Welcome to the Mallard Creek Chargers Pop Warner Football Program

Established in 2009 with three teams, the Mallard Creek Optimist Club's Tackle football program caters to ages 5-13. By 2010, our program expanded to six football teams, proudly joining the Pop Warner, Little Panther's Division. Our teams have grown together, and we eagerly anticipate further growth in the future!

At Mallard Creek Chargers, we believe in using football as a platform to instill strong values and education in our players. With a focus on teamwork, leadership, and discipline, we aim to develop responsible and resilient young men, preparing them for success in their future endeavors.

For the 2024 Fall Season, here is some important information:

Divisions:

1. Age-Based Division: This division offers a 2-year age span for the younger divisions and a 3-year age span for the older divisions. There are no minimum or maximum weight requirements.
2. Age & Weight-Based Division: For the 2024 season, we are only offering the Tiny Mite weight-based division (5-7). This division follows a uniform series of three basic years of age qualification for each level of play, with a fourth year of eligibility subject to more stringent weight restrictions (the “older/lighter” player).

Pop Warner Football Age Brackets (age determined as of 7/31/2024)

Season: August 1 - November; Expect 2-3 practices per week based on age group and Saturday games in the Greater Charlotte area starting at the end of August.

Practice Fields: Mallard Creek Community Park - 3001 Johnston Oehler Road, Charlotte, NC, 28262

Home Game Location: Mallard Creek High School (Johnson Oehler Rd)

Game Times: Set on a week-by-week basis; schedule times for the season will not be provided in advance.

Registration Cost: $310 covers helmet, shoulder pads (returned at the end of the season), team jersey, insurance, and facility fees. Parents are responsible for providing practice pants, cleats, and mouthguards.

Forms Required at Registration:

Picture/copy of Birth Certificate if new player. Returning players' birth certificates are saved in the system.
Picture/copy of Health Physical dated in 2024; Complete the 2024 Medical/Physical Form provided by your medical provider.
Additional items required prior to the season: Copy of 2023-24 Report Card; 2024 Participant Contract and Parental Consent Form.
