Welcome to Mallard Creek Chargers Pop Warner Cheer Program
Founded in 2009, the Mallard Creek Optimist Club Cheer Program has been dedicated to developing young athletes through cheer, teamwork, and academic excellence. Initially starting with just three teams, our program quickly expanded and joined the Pop Warner Little Panthers Division in 2010. Today, we continue to grow and strive for excellence, offering a fun, competitive, and rewarding experience for cheerleaders ages 5-16.
Each squad consists of up to 35 cheerleaders and is divided by age and grade level. Team placements may vary based on enrollment and skill levels.
2025 Season Focus
Our mission is to create a positive and supportive environment where athletes can grow in:
⭐ Cheer Fundamentals – Stunting, Tumbling, Jumps & Dance
📚 Academic Achievement – Emphasizing the importance of education
💪 Physical Fitness – Building endurance, strength, and flexibility
🏆 Competition Readiness – Preparing for local, regional, and national events
The season begins with sideline cheer, supporting our football teams during Saturday games across the Charlotte Metro area. As we transition into the fall, our focus shifts to competition preparation, including advanced stunting, tumbling, and choreography.
📢 Cheerleaders will compete in the Pop Warner Little Panthers Cheer Competition in mid-October.
🏆 Squads placing 1st or 2nd will advance to the Regional Competition in mid-November.
🌟 1st and 2nd place regional winners qualify for Nationals, held at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC!

📅 Season Duration: July 15 – November 2025
🏟 Game Days: Saturdays (Starting Late August)
📍 Game Locations: Home games at Mallard Creek High School, Away games in the Charlotte Metro area

Practice Information
🗓 Schedule:
- Practices begin mid-July, with games starting late August/early September.
- Squads practice 2-3 times per week (depending on age group).
- Practice days: Mondays, Wednesdays, and/or Fridays (based on coach availability & facilities).
📍 Practice Location:

Game Day & Competition Details
🏟 Home Games: Mallard Creek High School (Johnson Oehler Rd)
📅 Game Times: Set on a week-by-week basis; the full-season schedule is not provided in advance.
📣 Cheer Competition Schedule:
✔ Local Cheer Competition: Late October
✔ Regional Competition: Mid-November (for advancing teams)
✔ National Championships: Early December (Charlotte, NC – for qualifying teams)
📢 Competition team participation is based on sign-ups and interest per squad.
No Experience? No Problem!
🌟 No previous cheer experience is required! We welcome all skill levels and love introducing new athletes to the sport of cheer. All we ask is for:

Registration Details
💲 Registration Cost: $300
✔ Includes:
- Uniform (must be returned at the end of the season)
- Socks, Bows, & Bloomers
- Insurance & Facility Fees
📌 Parent Responsibilities:
- White Cheer Shoes
- Additional Cheer Accessories (if required by the team)

📄 New Cheerleaders: Copy of Birth Certificate required
📄 Returning Cheerleaders: No birth certificate needed (saved in system)

🏆 2022: JV National Qualifier & Mitey-Mite Regional Qualifier
🏆 2023: Jr. Pee Wee 1st Place Locally, 2nd Place Regionally, 3rd Place Nationally (Hip-Hop Division)
🏆 2024: Tiny Mite 1st Place Locally & Regionally, Jr. Pee Wee 1st Place Locally & Regionally
