Good Coaching Practices:

• The first rule is Have Fun!!!
• Remember, this is recreational soccer, we are here to educate about soccer and most importantly make it fun for the kids
• When talking to your kids try to have the sun at their backs to minimize discomfort and maximize focus
• Always work to include everyone
• Be positive and encouraging!
• Find drills that minimize waiting and maximize touches on the ball - Youtube is a great resource
• Make a rough plan before practice
• Doing the same drills each practice is good for driving home good skills, but still work to mix it up a bit
• Always try to arrive early even if you have to wait for your field
• Encourage passing drills (keep away or partner up and pass) before practice starts, rather than the kids just shooting goals on each other
• Think about how you can setup for multiple drills at one time at the beginning or before practice to minimize down time during practice
