Welcome to Winter Training!
We are excited to be kicking off another season of winter training at CBRC. When the weather gets cold, we take our training indoors for cross-training. The season offers a fun and challenging mix of erg workouts, flexibility, and strength training to build fitness and get ready for racing in the spring.
Winter 2024-25 Schedule:
First day of Winter Season - Tuesday, November 12, 2024
Last day of Winter Season - Saturday, February 1, 2025
Practices:
Tuesdays and Thursdays - 5:30am - 7:00am
Upstairs in the CBRC boathouse in Harry Todd Park, Lakewood (Tillicum).
Saturdays - 6:30am - 8:30am
On the water, weather permitting, on American Lake. If weather does not permit, Saturday practice is in the Boathouse. Currently we anticipate having six Saturday on the water practices. These are included in the Winter Training fee.
Winter Program Fee
The participation fee for Winter Training is $260.
Looking to join?
Those with or without prior rowing experience are encouraged to jump right into practices. Experienced rowers, current participants enrolled in our Novice and Intermediate program and rowers who have completed our summer Learn to Row classes are eligible to participate in our Saturday on the water practices.
Registration for Winter Season is open. Click the registration link above to register.
Practices are held rain or shine at the CBRC boathouse. Weekday access to the park is through the rear gate along N. Thorne Lane. Weekend access is usually through the main gate to the park, though during the winter, access through the rear gate may be necessary.
Athletes should arrive on time and, after warming up and stretching, ready to erg.
For Saturday on the water practices, efficient preparations are appreciated by the coaches. Faster prep means more water time and timely return to the docks. Athletes are encouraged to have a set of indoor athletic clothing in case of bad weather. Include a pair of athletic shoes with a closed heel for use on the rowing machines.
Locker room and shower facilities are available for those participants needing to head directly from practice to work. Please consult with one of the coaches regarding the proper use of the facilities and lock-up of the boathouse.
