Program Overview
Novice and Intermediate rowers practice twice a week during the same times as our Masters rowers, but as a separate group with a separate coach. We will try to honor your preference for one rowing technique over another. However, we may need to have you practice in sculling shells or sweep boats depending on numbers at a specific practice.
Rowers who complete the Novice and Intermediate program are encouraged to continue developing their stroke and build greater stamina and fitness during our indoor winter workouts from November to February. If you have any other questions, email us at [email protected].
Practice Times
Tuesday 5:30-7 a.m.
Thursday 5:30-7 a.m.
Athletes may choose one or both practices during the week although we encourage attendance at both practices for continuity and continuous improvement.
Practices are held rain or shine at the CBRC boathouse. Weekday access to the park is through the rear gate along N. Thorne Lane.
Please arrive on time and ready to row. We try to have boats back to the docks by 6:50 am and most athletes depart by 7:05 am.
Please bring a set of indoor athletic wear in case of bad weather; also include a pair of closed heel athletic shoes for use on the rowing machines.
Locker room and shower facilities are available for those participants needing to head directly from practice to work. Please consult with one of the coaches regarding the proper use of the facilities and lock-up of the boathouse.
