Adult Novice and Intermediate Season 2023

Registration for the Fall Season for Novice and Intermediate Rowers has closed. If you still want to join CBRC, please contact us at [email protected]. In the subject line enter: Attention Novice and Intermediate Fall Season registration.

The Novice and Intermediate program of the Master's team is open to all rowers over the age of 18 who have successfully completed one of CBRC's Learn to Row sessions and want to continue their rowing journey.  We have a great mix of ages, experience, and rowing backgrounds. You should find all the information you will need to successfully find your place at our club below. If you have other questions, email us at
[email protected].

Season Schedule

First day of Novice/Intermediate Season - Monday June 26, 2023
Last day of Novice/Intermediate Season - Saturday, November 3, 2023

Novice and Intermediate Program Fees

The participation fee for the season begins at $285.00 and is based on a weekly fee of $15.00 for the 19 weeks from June 26 to November 3. The registration fee you pay will depend on when you register and how many weeks remain in the season. As the fee structure is based on when you complete one of our Learn to Row sessions, additional registration opportunities will be updated on this page.

As with any new skill, the more one practices, the better one becomes. We encourage you to register upon completion of your Learn to Row session to maintain and grow your rowing abilities.

Program Overview

Novice and Intermediate rowers practice twice a week during the same times as our Masters rowers, but as a separate group with separate coaches. While we will try to honor your preference for one rowing technique over another, we may need to have you practice in sculling shells or sweep boats depending on numbers at a particular practice.

Rowers who complete the Novice and Intermediate program are encouraged to continue developing their stroke and build greater stamina and fitness during our indoor winter workouts from November to February.  If you have any other questions, email us at [email protected].

Practice Times

Tuesday 5:30-7 a.m.
Thursday 5:30-7 a.m.

Athletes may choose one or both practices during the week although we encourage attendance at both practices for continuity and continuous improvement.

Practices are held rain or shine at the CBRC boathouse. Weekday access to the park is through the rear gate along N. Thorne Lane.

Please arrive on time and ready to row. We try to have boats back to the docks by 6:50 am and most athletes depart by 7:05 am.

Please bring a set of indoor athletic wear in case of bad weather; also include a pair of closed heel athletic shoes for use on the rowing machines.

Locker room and shower facilities are available for those participants needing to head directly from practice to work. Please consult with one of the coaches regarding the proper use of the facilities and lock-up of the boathouse.

Click the registration link above to begin registration. During Registration there is an optional $50 or $100 donation for equipment replacement.

Upon registering, you can choose:

  • "Yes, please accept my donation of $50.00"
