Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate in Easthampton Youth Soccer Association (EYSA)?

Any child who is either a resident or a student in an Easthampton public school can register for the program.  For the fall Pre-K program, we will allow residents of other towns to join if their town does not have a program (i.e. Southampton).

What are the ages for the fall pre-K program?

You must be 4 years old during the season or at least by December 31st of the same year.

Is smoking allowed at the Nonotuck Park Soccer Complex?

Nonotuck Park is owned by the City of Easthampton and there is no smoking allowed on any city property.

Does Easthampton Parks & Rec run EYSA?

EYSA is a non-profit organization which is 100% run by volunteers from the Easthampton soccer community.

What seasons have soccer programs?

The fall season has a Recreational program and a Travel program.  The spring season only has a Travel program. We do not have any programs in the winter or summer.

What is the time commitment for Travel teams?

During the season there is usually one game a week on Saturday.  Some of the older groups will have two games a week with an added weekday game.  For practice, there are usually two a week with the days and times at the coach's discretion.

What type of equipment is required?

Appropriate footwear is required and cleats are the primary choice.  Players abilities will be limited if they are not wearing cleats. Sneakers can be worn at the Pre-K and K level.  Shin guards are required for any level that will be participating in small sided games, scrimmages, games, etc.

My child left a sweatshirt at the soccer fields.  Is there a Lost and Found?

The lost and found “box” is located in the garage portion of the soccer shed.  Any items that are found and turned in during the season are put in the box. These items can be collected any time during the season when the shed is open.  Any items that are not collected at the end of the season (usually mid-November) will be donated by EYSA to a cause of their choice.

Do EYSA players need to pay to get into Nonotuck Park for games?

All EYSA members and affiliates need to follow the  Nonotuck Park guidelines. Generally speaking, there is a fee to enter on the weekends and weekday access is free.  You can purchase an annual pass to avoid having to pay each time you enter.

Do visiting Roots teams need to pay to get into Nonotuck Park for games hosted by EYSA teams?

Yes. Anyone entering the park, including Easthampton residents, must adhere to park related fee guidelines which includes entrance fees.

My significant other is not receiving any of the email communication from the EYSA, team, and/or coaches.  Can you add this person to the system?

The EYSA board nor coaches are able to add additional people to the system in someone’s account.  This needs to be done by the administrator of the account.
