The EYSA Executive Board will make the decision for cancellation by 4pm for evening events and by 8am for daytime events. You will receive an email through the Sports Connect website and it will be posted on the EYSA Facebook page at those times. You may also receive text or app notifications depending on what preferences you enrolled in at the start of the season.
We believe it’s important to notify families in a timely manner, but we also want to balance that with not making a decision too early since weather can be unpredictable and forecasts are not always accurate. We also want to be clear that the presence of inclement weather does not result in an automatic cancellation. The decision is made in consideration of player safety and the long-term condition of the fields. This means that practices and games may still happen in less than perfect weather conditions.
You will only receive notifications if events are cancelled.
If you do not receive an email by 4pm on weekdays or 8am on weekends, then events are on as scheduled. Please, do not contact coaches as they do not receive any information prior to these notification times.
*PLEASE NOTE: There may be instances in which a coach uses their discretion to cancel an individual team’s practice for various reasons and/or unforeseen circumstances. In the event this happens, the coach will notify you by e-mail, text, or other means. While EYSA will make every effort to post these cancellations to our Facebook page as well, it may not be possible depending on the timing.
