We are happy to announce TYSA will now offer two program options with professional training for our Under-8 players.
ACADEMY: Our Academy program has expanded to include the U8 division and players will enjoy a full year of training (fall/spring) and will participate in a tournament. Games will be played against other area clubs. Academy is an invitation-only program, and all interested participants are required to attend TYSA tryouts which will be held in May. ACADEMY
JUNIOR ACADEMY: TYSA also offers a Junior Academy soccer program for both boys and girls ages U6 thru U8. The program bridges the gap between the TYSA Recreational Program and the Triumph Academy Program. We recognize that there are many talented and enthusiastic players looking for a more focused environment in which to grow their skills. Junior Academy provides additional challenges in a more structured soccer format and is intended for participants in the U6, U7 & U8 age groups who possess good basic soccer skills and desire to excel. Players in this program are exposed to a more challenging training environment than Recreation. The primary focus is on developing the correct technical and basic tactical elements that are needed to graduate into the U8-U12 Triumph Academy program. Practices are led by professional coaches. Junior Academy teams play within the Recreational game schedule with all practices and games held at Henderson Park. This is a single-season program (Fall or Spring).
Who is Junior Academy geared towards?
Applicants for the Junior Academy program should display the following:
- Coachable - Ability to focus at training and games.
- Self-motivated - with a desire to be the best in practice and games.
- Enjoyment - Enjoys dribbling the ball and being out on the soccer field.
- Good athletic ability - including agility, balance, coordination and speed.

Fall Fees: $450
Uniform costs are not included in the registration fees.
For your convenience, TYSA offers a Payment Plan which divides registration fees into monthly installments. If you feel you may need additional assistance, you may apply for aid. We ask that you submit your application prior to tryouts if at all possible so that we may offer the aid at the time of player commitment.
Training
Practices for the Junior Academy program will be at Henderson Park. Boys train on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Girls on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Training sessions will be conducted by a professional trainer with a focus on developing fundamental movement skills and fundamental soccer skills that permit a child to read their environment and make appropriate decisions, allowing them to move confidently and with control in a wide range of situations. Fall training begins in late-August and will end mid-November. Spring training runs late-February thru early-May.
Games
Games will be scheduled at Henderson Park within the Recreational Game Schedule. Junior Academy members will belong to a pool of players and will be placed on teams for games.
Uniform
All Junior Academy players will wear the TYSA Rec uniform, plus a training jersey for practices.
Joining Junior Academy
Registration for U6 and U7 Junior Academy divisions are open to everyone within the age parameters. Registration for the Fall 2023 season will run May 1st thru July 31st. Late Registration is August 1st thru August 13th. Late fees may apply.
U8 Jr Academy will be by invitation only as determined by tryouts. Tryout participants will be invited to join the U8 Academy, U8 Jr Academy or referred to our Recreational program upon evaluation.
