Resources for Coaches and Parents

Burlington Parks & Recreation wants to help you feel successful so that everyone involved -- coaches, players, parents -- all have a great experience.

All coaches must complete the following steps* in this order:
1. SafeSport (SS) Certificate Training
2. Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Certificate Training
3. Concussion Compliance (CC) Certificate Training
4. Background Check (RMA)

*Burlington Parks & Recreation staff will walk you through these requirements (see bulleted training steps below), but here is more explanation from Washington Youth Soccer:

Why do I need to complete all of the certificates?

  • Certificates are mandated by federal and state laws, along with US Soccer and USYS.  Washington Youth Soccer's goal is to be the top association and make soccer the preeminent sport in the USA. The extra safety precautions are a step in that direction.
  • Without a current approved background check, you will not have access to teams.
