Become a Head Coach / Assistant Coach:
- Complete the sign-up steps by June 30.
- After completing the sign-up steps, becoming a coach is contingent upon your Safe Sport Training Certification and passing a Background Check.
- Attend the Coaches Meeting in August. At this meeting, you'll receive team rosters, gear, photo packets and additional information.
Volunteer Positions Duties:
- As a Head Coach, you'll: Lead practices and serve as the main contact with Burlington Parks and Recreation Staff. Communicate team goals, expectations for parent and player behavior and best soccer practices. You'll be a role model to youth in our community.
- As an Assistant Coach, you'll: Assist and fill in for the Head Coach when needed. You can also lead practices (and having two coaches lead practices can be really nice!), help with team communication, and be a great role model to Burlington's youth.
Remember when you played soccer back in the day? And how AWESOME your coach was!? Be THAT coach for youth in Burlington. We've got the tools and resources needed to be a successful coach. And... maybe you never had a great coach? That's okay! Recreation Soccer Coaches don't need experience - just a willingness to show up for your team, and foster excellence throughout the season.
