Safety is our top priority! Some of our safety measures include:
- Every staff member has passed a background check performed by the Emory Police Department.
- All Camp Directors are certified in First Aid and CPR.
- We adhere to the CDC Tips for Preventing Heat-Related Illness. For more information click here.
- Counselors take roll and/or perform head checks when a camper is dropped off, when camp officially starts each day, before and after snack, before and after lunch and before and after pool time.
- Pick up codes are required for camper pickups.
- Our Building Supervisors have access to a lightning alert system, as do the Certified Lifeguards. In case of inclement weather, campers will be moved inside. This includes during carpool.
During Afternoon Swim Time:
- Certified Lifeguards are on duty at all times we are in the pool. In addition, counselors are spread out around the pool monitoring campers.
- On the first day of camp, all campers must pass a swim test in order to enter the deep end of the pool. Everyone is allowed in the shallow end. Non-swimmers and weaker swimmers are required to wear a camp provided life vest and must stay in the shallow end.
- Campers are not permitted to use the high dives.
