Swoop's Starters

A one-of-a-kind tennis camp curriculum for boys & girls, ages 5-8, at the beginner and advanced beginner levels. Swoop's Starters is only offered by Coach Amy Bryant during these three summer camp sessions:

Session I: May 29 -June 1(4 day week)

Session II: June 4-8 (5 day week)
Session III: June 11-15 (5 day week)

At a minimum Swoop's Starters will be introduced to the following skills: forehand, backhand, volleys & overhead. Some players will also learn to serve. In addition, full-day campers will learn how to keep score and will play lots of fun, skill reinforcing games. Swoop's Starters will learn tennis on smaller courts with bigger balls. Our goal is for your child to love tennis after just one week of camp!

Sample Summer Camp Schedule

8:30am Counselors Available for Drop-Off
9:00am Morning and Full-Day Sessions Begin
    9:00-9:15am Warm-Up & Stretching
    9:15-10:15am On-Court Drilling
   10:15-10:45am Snack Break*
   10:45-12:00pm On-court Drilling
12:00pm Morning Session Ends; Full-Day Session Continues
   12:00-12:30pm Conditioning/On-Court Games
   12:30-1:00pm Lunch*
   1:00-3:00pm Team Tennis Olympics
**12:30-3:30pm on Wednesday (Session II and III) - Field Trip to the SAAC outdoor pool via shuttle bus
    3:00-4:00pm Swimming in the Woodpec indoor pool
4:00pm Full-Day Session Ends; Extended Care Begins
5:30pm Extended Care Ends

Times and activities listed may be adjusted depending on the group skill level, weather, or other circumstances. Schedule includes transition time.
