NEW REFEREES

Tonka United is excited that you've decided to become a referee. Being a referee can be a rewarding experience for all ages. We hope that this is the start of a long career for you!

New Referee Registration for Tonka United

Obain your Grade 8 certification.
Tonka United requires that all of its referees be certified by the US Soccer Federation for the current year. Certification is administered by the Minnesota State Referee Committee. Clinics are offered throughout the metro in March/April and late summer.
a. Register online with the State Referee Committee
b. Pay the required fees
c. Successfully complete the online training and test
d. Attend a MNSRC clinic (any location)

Sign-up in our online assigning system
a. Register online with Game Officials
b. Click on the green "New Officials" button
c. Enter our Group # 1102 and our Access Code: 2010
d. Complete all the required information

Complete concussion awareness training
a. Complete concussion training
b. Print a copy of completed certificate and fax to Tonka United office, and keep for your records

Complete MYSA background check (for referees 18 and older)

Purchase a uniform
a. Planet Soccer
b. Score Sports
c. Amazon

All referees must have
- Official yellow referee jersey
- Black shorts
- Black referee socks
- Black shoes (except for recreational games)
- Whistle (Fox 40 or smilier is suggested)
- Digital watch

Attend a Tonka United field training
a. Trainings take place throughout the winter and early spring
b. First year referees must attend a parent/referee meeting in April. This is required for referees with 1 year or less of experience who wish to referee recreational games
c. Contact Jerry Rausch to register and reserve a meeting spot

RETURNING REFEREES

Thank you for deciding to referee Tonka United games for another season. Our club, coaches, players, and parents appreciate all you do for youth soccer!

Returning Referee Registration for Tonka United

Renew your SRC certification each year. Referees will not be permitted to work until they appear on the SRC certification list.

Sign-up in our online assigning system, complete concussion awareness training and complete MYSA background check (See above, steps 2-4 for "New Referees")

Attend a Tonka United field training. All travel referees with less tan three years of experience are expected to attend a field training. Winter training is offered as an option for this training. Otherwise you should attend the field training offered in April.
