2006-2002 PLAYERS

Tonka United's Competitive Soccer program offers year-round soccer experiences for 2006-2002 (U15-U19) players at all levels of play:

  • Elite (U15-U18) 
  • Academy
  • Select

Program placement is based on a player assessment that takes place each July. Tonka United's goal is to give our families and players a great soccer experience by placing players at suitable levels for success. All Competitive Soccer players receive a year-round soccer experience, professional coaching staff, and individual Player Development Plans.

ELITE 

U15-U17 Only

The Elite Soccer program is a partnership between Tonka United and Fusion SC, who together created Tonka Fusion Elite. This soccer program is designed for players who have strong desire to play in a elite soccer environment year-round while being challenged to excel by teammates and coaches who have similar levels of passion for the game. Players in Tonka Fusion Elite have aspirations to compete at a high-level in high school, college, and beyond.

ACADEMY

Tonka United's Academy program prepares and teaches players how to train and play at the highest levels in Minnesota. The Academy program requires a higher level of time and financial commitment.

  • Teams play at TCSL National/Regional level or MYSA Premier/C1
  • Teams participate in regional and local tournaments 
  • Teams participate in Presidents Cup and selected college showcases
  • Teams tiered as Premier, Academy 1 and Academy 2 (depending on level and number of teams created)
  • Professional Head Coaches
  • Player Development Curriculum and meso-cycle training plan provided, with oversight of Age Group Director
  • Individual Player Development Plans
  • Emphasis on developing players through challenging game-like situations that demand good possession habits

Multi-Sport Player Expectations

Fall: Soccer practices and games come before other sports. It needs to be the main priority. If conflicts do arise, please talk to your coaches. 
Winter: If you have a game or practice for your winter sport that conflicts with soccer, your winter sport takes precedent. 
Spring/Summer: Soccer practices and games come before other sports. It needs to the main priority. If conflicts do arise, please talk to your coaches.

SELECT

Tonka United's Select program's focus is to enjoy soccer through playing the game and accomplishing individual improvement. The Select program does not require the Academy program's high level of time and financial commitment.

  • Teams play at TCSL State/Cities level or MYSA C2/C3
  • Teams participate in local tournaments
  • Teams tiered as White and Red (lowest level)
  • Professional Head Coaches or Parent Volunteer Coaches
  • Player Development Curriculum provided, with oversight of Age Group Director

2001-2005 (U15-U19) SELECT CALENDAR & SEASON PLA 2019-2020

Multi-Sport Player Expectations

Fall: If you have a game for one of your other sports and a practice for your other sport, go to the game. When practices conflict, split your time evenly between practices over the course of the season. 
Winter: If you have a game or practice for your winter sport that conflicts with soccer, your winter sport takes precedent.
