OVERVIEW
Players: 3rd Grade - 12th Grade
Tonka United's Spring/Summer Recreational Soccer begins in late April and concludes at the end of June. Teams will play in Twin Cities Soccer Leagues (TCSL), and are coached by parents volunteer coaches - you can register as a volunteer while registering your child for the league. Tonka United will host a mandatory meeting for parent volunteer coaches in early April, a couple weeks before the start of the season.

2020 SEASON SCHEDULE

Spring/Summer Recreational Soccer games will be played Monday through Thursday nights. The schedule will be released at the beginning of April.
The season will start during the last week of April with a schedule practice/scrimmage session for each team. This session for each team will appear as the first game on their schedules.
Teams will play once a week over the course of the season - up to nine games, not including the Tonka Blast. Teams will also typically practice once per week during the season. Parent volunteer coaches will work with their teams to organize a practice schedule.
The season ends with the Tonka Blast, a year-ending festival, on Saturday, June 27th. All teams will play scheduled games at the Tonka Blast, expect for those in high school. There will be a lot to do at the Blast, including concessions, food trucks, face painting, hair spray, bounce houses, and much more!
Teams will play on the following nights during the season:
- 3rd Grade Boys - Thursdays
- 3rd Grade Girls - Thursdays
- 4th Grade Boys - Mondays
- 4th Grade Girls - Wednesdays
- 5th/6th Grade Boys - Mondays
- 5th/6th Grade Girls - Wednesdays
- 7th/8th Grade Boys - Tuesdays
- 7th/8th Grade Girls - Tuesdays
- High School (coed) - Mondays/Wednesdays (teams will play one of these two nights each week)
One Saturday game will be added as well - all teams up through the 5th/6th grade leagues will play a game on Saturday, May 16th.All 3rd through 7th/8th grade games will be played at Freeman Park. High school games will be played at Minnewashta Elementary (except for the last two weeks of the season - those high school games will be played at Minnetonka Middle School West).Teams are guaranteed seven games over the course of the season. Cancelled games will not be rescheduled, unless a team will be left with fewer than seven games.

Registration is $150 for all players in Tonka United's Recreational Soccer league. Note that this does not include the cost of uniforms. A $30 late fee applies after registration closes. __________________________UNIFORMS
Soccer uniforms are available through the Soccer Master store.
All players will need to order this new uniform set for the spring/summer 2020 season. The Recreational Soccer program typically uses a uniform set for three years. Players will be required to wear the new uniform set starting this season.
The home team should always wear the blue uniform top, and the away team should always wear the red uniform top. The game schedule will indicate which team is home and which is away for each game. We recommend players always bring both uniform tops to all games, just to be safe.

TEAM FORMATION
During the registration process, you are given the chance to designate one friend with whom your child would like to play. During team formation, we will honor only one mutual friend request. This means that the friend must request your child as well in order for that request to be honored. For example, Sarah requests to be placed on a team with Anne, and Anne requests to be placed on a team with Sarah.
Beyond the friend request, we will also try to place players on a team with at least some players from their school. However, registration numbers and the number of players from each school dictate final team formation. __________________________
LEAGUE FORMAT
3rd Grade - 7th/8th Grade Recreational Soccer teams play 7 vs. 7, including goalkeepers.
High school Recreational Soccer teams play 9 vs. 9, including goalkeepers.
Referees will be present to manage the game.
__________________________PICTURE DAYS
Individual and team pictures will held during the season. The schedule will be posted as soon as it is finalized.
__________________________REFUND POLICY
Tonka United has a limited refund policy. All refund requests must be submitted in writing. Refunds may be given under the following circumstances only:
- A player cannot be placed on a team within Tonka United due to the lack of a coach or insufficient numbers to fill a team (100% refund)
- Written request postmarked/dated before March 10th for Summer and August 15th for Fall (Registration Fee Minus $30).
- Prior to the scheduled date of game six (6) of the season, a player suffers an injury and is directed not to participate by a medical doctor. In order to request a refund under this provision, a medical doctor's letter must accompany the request verifying the injury and that said injury prevents the player from participating (50% refund).
Please note that refunds are not given for cancelled games or clinics.
