Tournament Overview
The Johnny P. Sims Memorial Golf Tournament is a fun tournament for family and friends. All proceeds from the tournament go to the TBU Financial Aid Program to assist those who could otherwise not afford to play.
Tournament History
Tampa Bay United has held a golf fundraising tournament since the early 2000s. Johnny P. Sims, a well-known member of the Tampa Bay community, sponsored club tournaments and events, donated his products and services through his company, Sims Irrigation, as well as continually volunteered his time to the club. His support and contributions to the club were invaluable and played an important factor in the club growing to what it is today. After Johnny P. Sims passed away in March of 2007, the golf tournament was renamed in his memory for his support and dedication to the Tampa Bay United Soccer Club.
In 2015, the Johnny P. Sims Memorial Golf Tournament underwent another change when its mission was specified that all funds raised would go to support the TBU Financial Aid Program to assist those who could not otherwise afford to play.

Time: 12:00 pm registration – 1:00 pm shotgun start
Location: Carrollwood Country Club

Cost: $500.00 per foursome / $125.00 per player
Prizes: Raffle prizes, Silent Auction, Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams
On Course Contests: Longest Drive, Closest to Pin, Putting Contest
Tournament Format
This is a scramble tournament. In a scramble, each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shot from that spot. This same format is followed for each shot, on each hole.
