1️⃣ Before You Begin

Before registering as a volunteer, please have the following ready:

• 📧 A valid email address you check regularly
• 🪪 A clear picture of your driver’s license (front side only – used for identity verification during your background check)
• 🌐 Access to your Sports Connect account (www.montvillellb.org)
• ⏱️ About 10–15 minutes to complete the process

🔒 Privacy Note: Driver’s license photos are used only for identity verification through the Little League/JDP background screening process and are not stored or shared beyond authorized league officials.

2️⃣ Step-by-Step: How to Register as a Volunteer

Step 1 – Go to the Registration Site

Visit: https://www.montvillellb.org

Step 2 – Log In or Create an Account

Use your existing Sports Connect login.
If you’re new, click Create Account and enter your name, email, and password.
If you're not already there, click on "MY ACCOUNT" in the top right.

Step 3 – Choose a Volunteer Role

💡 Note: Registering as a volunteer can also occur during the registration of your player.  This process is for volunteer restriction only.

On the left menu, select "Volunteer", then "+ Find Volunteer Roles"
Follow the process to select the role in the correct division

•  Manager / Head Coach
•  Assistant Coach
•  Dugout Assistant

💡 Note: A Dugout Assistant helps manage players and equipment inside the dugout. They must complete the same volunteer screening and training requirements as all other on-field volunteers.

If you’re helping with both Baseball and Softball, register for each division separately.

Step 4 – Complete Volunteer Form

Enter the following information:

• 👤 Personal Information (name, date of birth, address, phone, and email)
• 🕵️ Background Information (prior volunteer experience or coaching history)
• 👕 Shirt Size (used for coach apparel or uniforms)
• 📸 Upload a picture of your driver’s license (front side only – for identity verification during the background check)

Ensure all information is accurate — it’s used for identification and uniform planning purposes.

Step 5 – Authorize the Background Check

At the end of the form:

• ✅ Check the box to authorize the Little League JDP background check (required annually)
• 📨 Submit your application

You’ll receive an email from [email protected] with a secure link to complete your background screening. Follow that link within 48 hours to remain eligible.

⚠️ You are not fully registered until the JDP background check is complete.

3️⃣ After You Register

A. President Review

The League President reviews all volunteer submissions, verifies background check completion, and ensures requirements are met. If additional information is needed, you’ll be contacted by email.

B. Confirmation

Once cleared, you’ll receive a confirmation email and appear on the approved volunteer roster.

C. Team Assignment

Registering as a Volunteer does not guarantee assignment. League officials will assess the number of registrations versus the number of volunteers.

For player-pitch levels, team managers must be selected prior to evaluations, therefore any volunteer registration after evaluations cannot be guaranteed.

All volunteers (including Dugout Assistants) must complete the following:
