Montville Little League Policy

Montville Little League Policy on Dogs and Service Animals

As a private property owner, Montville Little League reserves the right to establish and enforce policies that ensure the safety and well-being of all visitors. Our insurance provider imposes strict limitations on the presence of animals at the complex, including service animals, due to liability concerns. Allowing animals, even those protected by federal or state laws, would place us in violation of our insurance policy, jeopardizing our ability to operate and host events.

Our primary focus is on creating a safe and inclusive environment for children and families. While service animals provide essential support to their handlers, their presence in a crowded, high-energy setting like a Little League game introduces potential risks, including unpredictable interactions, allergies, and sanitation concerns.

While federal and Connecticut state laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), provide certain rights for individuals with disabilities to be accompanied by service animals, private property owners have discretion to enforce policies that align with operational and safety requirements. At Montville Little League, the limitations set by our insurance provider and the nature of our activities necessitate a no-animals policy.

We recognize the importance of accessibility for individuals with disabilities and are committed to making reasonable accommodations to ensure that everyone can participate in and enjoy our events. We encourage those requiring assistance to reach out to us in advance so we can explore ways to address specific needs without compromising our established policies.

Thank you for understanding and respecting our policy.
