Are you curious about how to become involved with the Underwood Optimist Club?
We would like to invite you to attend an Underwood Optimist Club (UOC) meeting on a Saturday morning so that you can see what we are about, how the meetings take place, and so we can get to know you better and you can get to know the many members of our Optimist Club. You can reach out to any Underwood Optimist Club member to let them know you want to attend a meeting to ensure that a meeting will be taking place on the Saturday you intend to come.
Once you've attended a meeting, you will need a member of the UOC to be a sponsor for you. You'll fill out an application, and if approved, you will become a member the club once you have paid the required membership dues.
Meetings
Our Club meets every Saturday at 7:30 AM at U.M.B.A. Hall (Underwood, IA) in the small meeting room, except on some holidays and when we host special events. The breakfast meeting is for all members and lasts about one hour and 15 minutes. Breakfast is $4/member and special guests are free. All meetings begin with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance and will end with the Optimist Creed.
Dues
*A one-time initiation fee of $35 covers your first quarter dues.
*Quarterly Dues are $25.
Why do I have to pay dues to be part of a volunteer organization?
Dues help to cover the administrative costs of membership enrollment through Optimist Club International, insurance coverage while participating in activities performed by the Optimist Club, and more.
