Rocky Mountain Invitational - Tournament Updates

Gates games that were postponed this evening will be played in the morning. The RMI Tournament Schedule has been updated as of 9:45pm with adjustments to fields and start times.

ALL TEAM PLAYING AT GATES: Please review your schedule before heading to fields.
Time changes are fairly minimal, 15-30 minutes delays on a handful of games.
There are some field changes, so be sure to check and share the info with families.

Tournament Overview

Most tournament games will take place Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend.
Friday is reserved as a back up day in the event all games cannot be played Saturday and Sunday. If so, only local teams (within one hour driving distance) will play.

We have no lodging requirements, but book early as accommodations in the Valley sell out over Memorial Day weekend.

Games will be played at Gates Soccer Park, between Glenwood Springs and Carbondale, and at Crown Mountain Park, in Basalt. Both field locations are accessible from Glenwood, Carbondale, Basalt or Aspen.

Parking is extremely limited so carpooling is highly recommended.

DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON FIELDS!

Scores and schedules will be updated on GotSport throughout the weekend.

Tournament check-in must be completed by the Wednesday prior to the tournament.

Application Deadline: May 1, 2024
Dates: May 25-26, 2024 (Saturday, Sunday)

Divisions:
Boys and Girls:
- 10U
- 11U/12U
- 13U/14U
- 15U/16U
- 17U/18U/19U
Brackets in divisions will be created based on requests and results from current and past season league play.

Maximum roster size by age group:
- 9U-10U (7v7): 14 players
- 11U-12U (9v9):16 player
- 13U-15U: 18 players
- 16U-19U: 22 players

Guest players allowed by age group:
- 10U five guest players
- 11U-15U five guest players
- 16U-19U six guest players

Format: Games shall be played under IFAB rules, subject to certain modification. Three game minimum.
- 10U will play 7 v. 7
- 11U and 12U will play 9 v. 9
- 13u+ will play 11 v. 11

Rules: RMI Tournament Rules

Scoring: The tournament uses the seven point system as follows:
- Three points for a win
- One point for each goal up to three (points for goals apply to both teams)
- One point for a shutout
- One point for a draw/tie
- Zero points for a loss

Tie Breaking Criteria:
- Head to head (where applicable)
- Fewest goals allowed
- Fair play record (-1 for yellows, -3 for reds)
- Goal differential
- Most goals scored (up to 3 per game)
- Penalty kicks – to be taken 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the quarterfinal or semi-final game
