Travel teams (Grades 3-8)
There is no U10 intown league for boys or girls. You must register for a travel team within that age group or you can participate in our Sunday clinic (typically for grades 3-5).
To participate in the league, the child must be a resident of Waltham or attend Waltham public schools. Jewelry (bracelets, activity monitors, necklaces, earrings of any kind) can not be worn during practices or games nor can be covered up with tape or bandaids.
The travel league is for competitive soccer. Approximately half the games are at home at Waltham at Veteran's Field. The other half of the games at the home location of the opposing team.
Our teams play in the Middlesex Youth Soccer League.
Training sessions are 2 times per week and a Saturday match. Game times are dictated by the league and can be anytime on Saturday though most games are typically in the morning.
Practices are typically (may vary due to coaches schedules):
Monday & Wednesday nights for Boys
Tuesday & Thursday nights for Girls
Games are 7v7 in 3rd & 4th Grade, 9v9 in 5th & 6th Grade, and 11v11 for grade 7th & above.
Fall season runs end Aug-Nov; registration opens in May and Spring season runs end March-June; registration opens in October prior.
Refunds of the registration fee will only be given if requested by beginning of July for the Fall Season and beginning of February for the Spring season. Refunds after that time will be considered on case by case basis.
Travel teams are formed by skill levels. All registered players, regardless of past soccer experience, will be evaluated and placed on teams balanced with other players of similar skill. Placements happen in the previous spring. If you are new to the program for the spring season, a placement session is required in the winter before the start to the season.
