 Paul Reil - Head Coach / President

Coach Paul Reil, a Colorado native from Denver, brings over 30 years of extensive experience in coaching youth sports. A proud graduate of Englewood High School (Class of 1990), Coach Reil began his coaching career in 1993 when he took the helm of the football program at his alma mater. His passion for mentoring young athletes soon extended beyond football, and in 2006, he transitioned into competitive youth baseball, where he has since made a significant impact. As the head coach of both the Centennial Redbirds and the Colorado Wolves, Coach Reil led his teams to multiple state championships, solidifying his reputation as a highly successful and respected figure in Colorado's youth sports community.

Between 2015 and 2018, Coach Reil expanded his coaching portfolio by serving as the Head Softball Coach at Rangeview High School, where he implemented a winning culture and developed student-athletes both on and off the field. Following that role, he took on the position of Head Baseball Coach at Bishop Machebeuf High School. Under his leadership, the Machebeuf baseball team earned two consecutive state playoff berths in 2018 and 2019, demonstrating his ability to build competitive, disciplined, and successful teams at the high school level.

Throughout his career, Coach Reil has remained dedicated to the development, mentorship, and success of young athletes. His commitment to fostering talent and instilling a strong work ethic has left a lasting impression on the players he has coached, and his influence continues to be felt long after they’ve moved on from his programs. With a proven track record of success and a deep passion for helping young athletes reach their full potential, Coach Reil’s impact on Colorado sports remains significant and enduring.


Jim Gochenour - Associate Head Coach

Coach Jim Gochenour brings over 20 years of invaluable coaching experience to the Jackrabbits organization, with a proven track record of success at the high school level. His coaching journey began at Rangeview High School in Aurora, Colorado, where he served as the Junior Varsity Baseball Coach for more than a decade. During his tenure at Rangeview, Coach Gochenour helped develop and mentor numerous student-athletes, guiding them both on and off the field while fostering a strong sense of discipline, teamwork, and competitive spirit.

Following his successful career in baseball, Coach Gochenour transitioned to coaching Junior Varsity Softball at Rangeview, where he collaborated closely with Coach Reil for three seasons. This shift allowed Coach Gochenour to expand his coaching expertise and adapt his approach to a different sport while maintaining his commitment to developing well-rounded athletes.

After his time at Rangeview, Coach Gochenour continued to build his coaching legacy at Machebeuf High School, where he served as the Junior Varsity Baseball Coach. His leadership and mentorship during this period helped shape the program and provided athletes with the tools they needed to succeed both on the field and in their academic pursuits.

In 2023, Coach Gochenour joined the Jackrabbits organization, bringing with him his wealth of experience, passion for coaching, and dedication to fostering the growth of young athletes. Since joining the team, Coach Gochenour has proven to be an invaluable asset to the coaching staff, consistently making a positive impact through his innovative coaching strategies, dedication to athlete development, and strong commitment to upholding the Jackrabbits' values of excellence, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Hunter Reil - Assistant Coach / Pitching 

Coach Hunter Reil is a dedicated Colorado native, born in Englewood, and a graduate of Bishop Machebeuf High School, where he earned Honor Roll distinction in 2019. In 2018, Hunter was selected as an Under Armour Preseason All-American, an honor that provided him the opportunity to participate in prestigious tournaments led by top college and professional baseball coaches. These events took place in notable locations, including Omaha during the College World Series, Tampa Bay at the Pittsburgh Pirates' Spring Training Facility, and Arizona at the Chicago Cubs' Spring Training Facility.

Hunter furthered his athletic career by accepting a baseball scholarship to Tabor College in 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he returned home to Colorado. Currently, Hunter is pursuing a degree at Metro State University, with plans to continue on to Nursing School.

In addition to his academic and athletic pursuits, Hunter began his coaching career as an assistant for the Arapahoe Little League, where he contributed to the team’s 10U League Championship victory. He also served as part of the coaching staff for the 2021 Arapahoe Little League All-Star team.

Nick Small - Assistant Coach / Player Development

Coach Nick Small is a dedicated and experienced coach originally from Aurora, Colorado, where he grew up and attended Rangeview High School. After graduating, Coach Small went on to develop a passion for coaching and mentoring youth athletes, a dedication that has shaped his career over the past 15 years. He has been an integral part of Coach Reil's staff for over a decade, contributing to the success of numerous teams and players.

In addition to his long-standing partnership with Coach Reil, Coach Small followed him to Machebuef High School, where he has served as a Varsity Assistant Coach, further honing his coaching skills and fostering a deep understanding of the game. Throughout his career, Coach Small has consistently prioritized player development, emphasizing the importance of character, discipline, and teamwork both on and off the field.

With a lifetime commitment to coaching and youth development, Coach Small’s experience and passion have made a lasting impact on countless athletes, helping them grow not only as players but as individuals. His leadership, guidance, and mentorship continue to inspire young athletes to strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives.
