Philosophy

Our Summer Program reflects the Benfica USA Club philosophy of creating an atmosphere that is safe, fun and challenging.

This allows for some room for trial and error and decision making which will foster independent creative thinking.

Question: How do you place players?
Answer: We review players on a daily basis and place them in groups of ability level first and age group second.

Question: Is it a soccer program or a fun program playing soccer?
Answer: For our 9-18 year olds, it is an intense soccer clinic.  FUN is the outcome of what we do and NOT the objective.  The only low key portion of the day is the skills competition.  This is intended more of a recovery for the players otherwise they could not keep up for a full day.  The other possibility would be extreme heat.  In this case we incorporate many frequent breaks in the shade and hydration.
