Field Hockey - Outdoor
Schedule
The program practices two to three time per week starting in August. Most games are on Sundays, from September through the end of October. Teams will have the opportunity to place in tournaments outside of the normal, regular season schedule. Participation in tournaments is very likely, but not guaranteed.
Teams
- Clinic Division- kindergarten and 1st grade
- 3/4 Division - 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade.
- 5/6 Division - 5th and 6th grade.
- 7/8 Division - 7th and 8th grade (If a 9th grade GIRL is cut from the Junior Varsity team at the high school level, SHE may play rec council)
Co-Ed participation
Maryland Youth Field Hockey League (MYFHL) is now open to boys that are in 2nd grade up until 8th grade.
Participation Cost
- 1 child - $120.00 each
- 2 or more children (same family) - $110.00 each.

Required Equipment
- Hockey stick
- Shin guards
- Colored mouth guard
- Protective eyewear (field hockey goggles are not the same as Lacrosse; please make sure to ask for field hockey)
- The program will provide uniforms and field hockey socks!
Coaches
The Field Hockey program is completely dependent on non-paid coaches; please consider volunteering as a Coach or Assistant Coach. We don't need Field Hockey experts, just people with a passion to help kids achieve their potential. If you are interested in coaching or assistant coaching please fill out the volunteer registration form.
ALL COACHES, VOLUNTEERS, TEAM PARENTS, AND ANYONE THAT HELPS WITH A TEAM OR THE LEAGUE ARE REQUIRED TO GO THROUGH THE BALTIMORE COUNTY VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND CHECK PROGRAM.
This will be an annual requirement. If you have completed this for another sport or volunteer position for Baltimore County in the past 12 months, then you do not need to register again. You will, though, need to register every 12 months.
