Fall 2025 - We've Updated How We Place Kids in Programs! Enter your child in their 2025 School Grade

This year, we’re switching from calendar-year registration to school-year registration so everything lines up with how local schools group students.

That means you’ll now register your child based on the grade they’ll be entering in Fall 2025, using a September 1 cutoff — not just their age.

Please note: When you register, you might notice that your child shows up as eligible for more than one program (especially if they have a summer or fall birthday). That’s totally okay! Just choose the program that matches the grade they'll be in for the 2025–2026 school year.

Welcome to the New Canaan FC Petite Rams Program.

The Petite Rams Program is available to all players prior to entering Kindergarten. 

The program is our base level of programming and is designed for players looking to be involved in a soccer based program for their Pre-K Kids. The program goes beyond soccer programming to combine fundamental movement patterns with the ABCs of movement, Agility, Balance & Coordination

Each class outline includes adventure based learning with a soccer ball, asking players to use their imagination to participate in games of exploration.

Petite Rams Program Objectives:

• Provides a FUN and structured soccer experience for our youngest players.

• Provide a positive first interaction with soccer.

• Provide positive participation in organized sport.

• Focus on games that are based around mass participation with continuous contact with a ball to improve their comfort with and familiarity of dribbling and controlling the ball with their feet.

• Games will include fundamental movements such as agility, balance, and coordination.

• Parents are expected to participate as needed to support their child's engagement

Is there a uniform? 

We ask that all Petite Rams arrive in the following uniform but understand that this may not always occur for this age group.

Should my child play with their birth year or grade level?

New Canaan FC is happy to allow our youngest players the option to play based on a child’s birth year or grade level. The registration system will only allow you to register your child based on their birth year, but after you register, forward your confirmation email to [email protected] and request that your child be moved to the desired program. Any credits due to program price differences will be placed back on your Blue Sombrero account.
