New Canaan FC Soccer Community,

The New Canaan FC Board would like to officially introduce the successor to Krista Tully as President of our organization and welcome Patrick J Quill to the role. Pat brings a wealth of soccer knowledge and enthusiasm to the position and we look forward to his leadership. Krista, thank you for years of service for our organization and community. Please see below for Pat’s welcome address to the fall soccer season.

New Canaan FC Board

Dear New Canaan FC families,

At long last, welcome back to soccer! As the new President of New Canaan FC, I would first like to thank Krista Tully, the outgoing President, for her extraordinary work and leadership. Under Krista’s direction, our club launched “Rivals United”, an “in-house” premier level program, and our pre-travel program which helps get our U8s further prepare for their travel careers. Krista was also responsible for several behind-the-scenes initiatives including the introduction of a much-improved registration system and the foundation of our “in-house” coaching group, run by Luke Green. Lastly, and most importantly, Krista always made the right decisions regarding our children’s health and well-being during periods of extreme heat, crazy mosquito born illnesses, and a global pandemic. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication, Krista!

Having played soccer growing up and with 5 soccer crazed children (Katie 14, Carolyn 12, Patrick 10, Denis 8, Thomas 3), the sport has played and continues to play a huge part in my life. Many of my closest friendships were made on the soccer field and I am seeing the same trend among my children. Through my involvement with New Canaan FC as a parent volunteer and board member, I have had the great pleasure of getting to know many wonderful soccer families and I look forward to meeting many more!

As with most youth programs, volunteers are the lifeblood of our club, so I thank you in advance for your participation, support, and especially patience in a very fluid and challenging environment. Now, more than ever, it is imperative to get our kids outside running around with the friends they have missed so much. The upcoming season certainly presents some challenges and unknowns, but New Canaan FC will do everything we can to ensure a FUN and SAFE environment for our children.

All participants – coaches and players/parents – will be required to sign a code-of-conduct that clearly outlines what is expected among our members and general best practices. Some aspects might seem overly conservative to some and too relaxed to others, but after much deliberation, we feel we have struck an achievable balance that maximizes safety while enabling a fun and productive learning environment. On behalf of the New Canaan FC Board, we are confident that you and your family will enjoy the upcoming season.

Thank you for your loyalty to our program!
