Volunteerism

There is always an open opportunity here at Highland Springs Little League.  We still have titled board positions available.  We also have many committees that can be formed.  Our organization is run by 100% volunteers.  All board, manager, coach, team mom, umpires and any other volunteer that has consistent involvement with HSLL children will have to participate in a background check to ensure our children's safety at no cost to the volunteer.  We strongly believe in creating and keeping a safe environment for our children and other volunteers.

Available Opportunities:

 Marketing/Public Relations Manager:

·        Works with local media to promote the interests of Little League

·        Coordinates efforts to make the local little league visible in the community year round

·        Oversees new player recruitment efforts

·        Develops and maintains a league marketing plan focused on player recruitment and retention

·        Works hand and hand with Sponsorships/Fundraiser Manager to develop ideas to bring the charter in the light of the community

·        Builds  positive reinforcement ideas and events to the divisions to help player retention


Umpire-In-Chief:

·        Responsible for recruiting and recommending Umpires for the league

·        Research, and present training opportunities for volunteer and paid umpires

·        Evaluates league umpires using established guidelines to maintain program integrity

Coach(es):

·        In charge of team players development

·        Leads by example with positivity and motivation

·        Works with players and parents to improve skills and prepare for games

·        Evaluates players throughout the year to prepare for tournaments

·        First point of contact to parents to resolve issues and incidents during games and practices

·        Leans on team mom to maintain an organized team

Division Manager:

·        First point of contact for coaches to resolve issues and incidents during games and practices

·        Reports to the Vice President of Operations if issues escalate

·        Works with the coaches and team moms to ensure an organized division

·        Maintains a positive attitude, and motivates the coach, team mom and players of their division

Media Committee (Chairman - Marketing/Public Relations Manager)

Fundraiser Committee (Chairman - Sponsor/Fundraiser Manager)
