Brighton Youth Baseball Association (BYBA) will hold tryouts ANNUALLY in July for its Tournament Only and Competitive Baseball Program Teams.  All details for the tryout, who is required to attend and required documentation can be found below.  Players attending tryouts will only need to participate in one session

Who Must Tryout?

Any Player who falls into One (1) or more of the following categories MUST attend the tryout.  Players who do not attend tryouts will not be placed on a team - No Exceptions

1.  A new player to BYBA Competitive Baseball - This player did not play competitive baseball with BYBA in previous season.

2.  A Player who is not part of a "Returning" Team to BYBA Competitive Baseball.  A returning team is defined as a team that has at least six (6) players from the previous year's roster returning to play on the same team the following year.  If your son or daughter played on a team that has disbanded for whatever reason, they are required to attend tryouts to be placed on a new team.

3.  A returning player wishing to be placed on a new team  - This player may desire to try to make a higher level team.  In this case, the player must attend tryouts.

*A note on team formation:  At the 8 year old levels, teams will be formed by the BYBA Coaches Committee.  Players will be selected based on tryout results and placed on teams according to ability and ranking within the tryout.  Teams at the 9-14 year old level will be formed based solely on coach selection.  The top level coach/team for each age group will complete their roster first, followed by the next level coach/team, and so on.
