The NCYGB Program offers CYO team options to provide girls the opportunity to learn the game of basketball in a structured and less competitive environment than what is offered by the NCYGB Travel basketball teams.
Format of Teams:
For the 2021-2022 program year, the North Colonie Youth Girls Basketball Program offered several CYO team options. These teams participated in the Troy CYO league. Recreational teams that were formed for the 2021-2022 program year are as follows:
3rd/4th Grade (3 teams)
5th Grade (2 teams)
6th Grade (1 team)
Each program year, CYO teams are established based on the level of player interest and coach availability. Players may choose to tryout for the NCYGB CDGBL Travel team, the CYO team or both; however, players who are selected for the CDGBL team will only be allowed to play on both the CDGBL team and CYO team if there is not enough CYO player interest to form the CYO team at that level.
Tryouts for the Travel and CYO teams are generally held in September.
