A. No! We do not have boundaries & we accept all girls, all levels.

Q. What is the minimum player age?
A. We welcome players ages 4-14.

Q. Where are the fields?
A. Hamilton Fields are located behind the Hamilton Adult School:

Q. How do I register?
A. Register by hitting the Register button on our Homepage. You will be prompted to create an account or sign into your existing account to begin the registration process.

Q. Do I have to submit a copy of my child's Birth Certificate and why?

A. Yes. Birth Certificates are required. It determines the division your child will play in, and USA Softball requires a copy for their registration process.

Q. How often do teams practice?
A. The practice schedule is up to each manager, but you can expect 1-2 practices a week.

Q. Will my child get a uniform?
A. Yes, each season(Spring, Fall, All Star, Other) the board of directors will determine the uniform package for each player. These packages will vary based on season, rates, vendor, and other factors.Typically a Spring season would include jersey, pants, socks. Fall would include just a jersey.

Q. What other equipment will my child need?
A. To begin a season at NTGSL your player will only need the following items:

A glove (please keep ball size in mind when selecting), cleatsBat (appropriate for her age and size, and MUST be USA Softball approved) finally a helmet with face protector (the face protector is mandatory your player can not use a helmet without one.)

NTGSL provides the balls, tee's and catcher’s gear. Other equipment (batting gloves, bat bags, defensive mask and catchers gear etc.) are optional. We would recommend to just get the basics and as your player and the season progress you can add additional gear. If you are unsure how to size a bat glove, helmet for your player or do not know what an USA approved bat is we can help ask your coach, commissioner, player agent, or any other board member at our league. Also ask your sporting goods store employee they often can give you pointers or tricks to sizing.

Q. Who umpires the NTGSL games?
A. NTGSL utilizes an outside umpire service approved by USA Softball to provide umpires for 8U, 10U, 12U (1 umpire-2 for championship games) & 14U Games (2 umpires). 6U will get a Junior Umpire half way through season (when available).

Q. Who is responsible for working in the NTGSL snack bar?
A. We are 100% volunteer run program. Each player registered at NTGSL will have a family member 18 and over work 2 snack bar shifts. Volunteering is part of you registration obligation, however because we know sometimes it is difficult to give your time,we have a "Buy out" option that would release you from your snack bar duties entirely for the season.

Q. Does the League have a fundraiser?
A. Yes, as you can imagine to keep our fields looking great, and the program running just about year round NTGSL relies heavily on fundraising to help support the operations of the league. Player registration fees account for a portion of the funds required for equipment, facilities maintenance and repairs, uniforms, etc. The League supplements player registration fees with league sponsors and fundraising. Each player’s parent(s) are expected to participate in the league’s annual fundraising activity. If you have questions about fundraising or the fundraising buyout, please contact our Way & Means coordinators. Each season we try and change our fundraiser to help our families have a successful fundraising effort. Again we do offer a "but out" option which is roughly $140.00 this will exclude your player from their fundraising obligation. **Please note that NTGSL families with more than 1 player in our league are only responsible for meeting fundraising requirements once.

Q. Does NTGSL offer softball opportunities for my daughter during the “off season”?
A. NTGSL participates in LA/SB USA Fall Ball program which typically runs from September to November. In this league, NTGSL plays against teams from other Leagues in the area. The Fall Ball season is a "developmental" season where players can get ready for Spring Season.

Q. Who do I contact if I have questions?
A. We at NTGSL have worked very hard to implement a program enjoyable for all and have set in place additional resources our member can utilize so they can feel heard, your feedback is an important part of NTGSL's success.

Step 1. Coach - Talk to the coach, they are volunteers, but often times they can help answer questions.

Step 2. Division Coordinator - If the coach couldn't answer your question, each division has a coordinator. One of their roles is to ensure fair play for all and as a member of the NTGSL Board of Directors they can find the answer to your question.

Step 3. Player / Coach agent - If you still want additional information, We have a player / coach agent. One role of the player / coach agent is to act as a liaison to families. This board member typically handles questions and or concerns that may arise during the duration of the season.

Step 4. Executive Board - If you have utilized all the steps below and they were just unable to get your question answered satisfactorily, our Executive Board will be more than happy to try and find you an answer that will hopefully suffice.

Q. What is USA Softball?
A. USA Softball (USAS) is the National Governing body of softball in the United States, including regulating competition to ensure fairness and equal opportunity to the millions of players who participate in the sport. For more information please visit their website.
