Recreational Soccer Spring 2021

We are in need of coaches! Please consider volunteering so the kids can play this Spring.

Spring SEASON:
We will monitor the actions and recommendations of the State of Ohio for students.
We may go with a shorter season.
We will not guarantee a certain number of games will be played.
We may change the start and or end dates of the season.
At this point, we are proceeding under normal planning but we expect things will not be normal and can't predict how it will look in the winter and spring.
No one can predict what decisions will be made for public events going forward.
Thank you, in advance, for understanding the fluid nature of the spring 2021 season.

We encourage everyone to register online.

Registration deadline: January 31st, 2021

Recreational SAY Soccer:

SAY stands for Soccer Association for Youth. It is our governing organization. SAY has many leagues all over the country, but the national organization was formed and is headquartered right here in Cincinnati. SAY's vision is to provide an opportunity for all youth to play recreational soccer. For this reason, SAY takes the competitiveness down a notch by governing with rules such as:

1. All players must play at least one half of every game

2. Teams must be randomly drawn (no stacking) according to specific rules with a witness from another organization present

3. Players need not try out for teams - anyone can sign up and play.

Learn more about SAY at their website: www.saysoccer.org.

MRAA plays in the Northwest Cincinnati SAY Area. We play against teams from other organizations in the Northwest area of greater Cincinnati. Each season, half of our games are home games and the other half away, so some driving is necessary but it is all in our region. To find out more about Northwest Cincinnati SAY, visit it's website: www.nwsaysoccer.org

NW Cincinnati SAY Divisions Within Northwest Cincinnati SAY, divisions are created according to age and gender. Age spans are two years and teams are all boys or all girls. Because each division has a two year span, if a child plays continuously, he or she will start out as one of the younger players and then eventually become one of the older players, allowing for alternating years of being older and younger within their age division.

Per SAY rules, your child is permitted to play in the next older age division that their birth year qualifies them for. For example, if your child was born in 2010, they would be permitted to play in the Strikers division instead of the Wings division. They cannot play up any further than one year. The age matrix for SAY recreational soccer may be found under the links section in the MRAA soccer tab.

If we do not have enough players for a team in any particular division, we will refer those players to another organization who does have a team in that division. If we do not have enough coaches for the teams, a wait-list will be initiated.

We are glad to answer any questions, please email [email protected]
