LSYSA Baseball FAQs

How do I register?

The 2026 baseball and softball season registration is open from March 1st to April 12th, 2026. Due to inventory and shipping issues, at the close of registration team rosters and schedules will be created and uniforms will be ordered, so be sure you don’t miss the close date!! Help your friends by reminding them to register so no one gets left out!!

Our online player registration is accessible at the bottom of this page. If you are new to LSYSA, setup a StackSports account at the top right of this page. Once logged in, select Register My Players and continue to navigate through the registration process.

If you have previously registered a player in LSYSA baseball or basketball there will be a blue "programs available" icon next to the players name. Select this button to begin the registration process. If your desired division isn't showing, please select what is available and continue the registration process. Once completed, email us at [email protected] so that we can transfer your player. If your player is outside the age ranges of that division, please contact us first.

Registration fees can be paid through the website with a debit or credit card or follow the instructions to mail a check.

Please send any registration, payment, or scholarship questions to [email protected]

Who can play?

Kids ages 4 through 12 are welcome to play. T-ball and Coach Pitch Divisions are co-ed. All practices and games are held at Nine Mile Falls schools. LSYSA is a youth recreational league for both girls and boys.

How are teams determined?

LSYS offers three baseball divisions for all skill types. Our goal is for kids to have fun while learning the rules of baseball.

T-Ball: A fun place to learn to swing a bat, throw a ball and run bases! Ages 4 - 6

Coach Pitch: Development of batting/fielding skills and position placement. Ages 6 - 8

Player Pitch 1: This intro to competitive play allows players to experiment with taking on a position. Ages 8 - 10

Player Pitch 2: Offering more structured and competitive play. Ages 10-12

Softball 1 and 2: Offering two Softball divisions for girls ages 8-12.

In an effort to better balance the teams in Player Pitch 1 and 2 Baseball, we are asking parents and players to attend a skills assessment on Thursday April 16th at Lake Spokane Elementary School from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The point of this assessment is to simply gauge the abilities of different players and then create the teams with hopefully more equal skills. This is NOT a tryout. Every kid will play and will be assigned to a team. With this approach, friend and coach requests will be harder to accommodate. Please note that no requests are guaranteed.

Please reach out to us at [email protected] with any questions about team placement.

Will LSYSA provide uniforms and equipment? What equipment do I need to buy?

The registration fee includes a baseball hat, jersey, and pants (optional this year - add $10) for you to keep. Players provide their own baseball mitt and shoes, ideally cleats (note: metal cleats are not allowed for safety reasons). Athletic shoes are fine for younger ages. We have found baseball/ soccer/ football cleats at thrift stores for a good price; they do not need to be baseball cleats in particular (many kids use the same cleats for multiple sports). Many kids bring their own helmet and bat, but those items are not mandatory since LSYS provides each team with helmets and bats.

Five gallon buckets make a great team bench + carry all. Mention Lake Spokane Youth Sports at the Suncrest ACE Hardware for a discounted baseball bucket!

Please clearly mark your personal equipment with your player's name, including their hat.

If you need assistance with personal equipment please reach out to us at
[email protected]

LSYS supplies each team's coach with baseballs, a few bats, at least 5 batting helmets, catcher’s gear (coach pitch and player pitch teams), and a tee (T-ball). Parents provide their child with a mitt and shoes/cleats, and may also choose to purchase their child's own batting helmet and/or bat.

What is the registration fee, and is there a family discount or scholarship?

The 2026 baseball registration fee is $70. There is a $5 sibling discount that is automatically applied when you register all kids under the same account.

A scholarship fund was created based off the generous donations from LSYSA families and sponsors. Please be sure to spread the word about this great opportunity so that LSYS can assist anyone in need of help covering registration fees or supplying gear.

LSYSA is honored to be the recipients of the Malachi Burnette Memorial Scholarship. Malachi Burnette passed away suddenly on September 22, 2021 at the age of 45. Malachi is survived by his loving wife Tracy and their three children Grayson, Maxwell, and Kennedy. Malachi was loved by many people who will miss his hearty laugh, his wonderful hugs, his generosity and his enormous capacity to love (source: obituary published by Spokesman-Review on October 3, 2021). Family and friends described Malachi as an athlete and a huge sports fan, and asked LSYS to create this scholarship fund in his loving memory. This generous gift in Malachi's honor will allow for Nine Mile Falls area children to participate in LSYS programs.

If your family has a financial need for a scholarship (player registration fees waived), please make your request by emailing the LSYS Board at [email protected]. Thank you!

Refund Policy: Once registration has closed LSYSA is unable to issue refunds. Uniforms are purchased at the close of registration, and the league cannot afford to carry that cost. Stack Sports, the program LSYS uses for online registration, adds a $3 fee to each transaction. If you cancel after registering, but before registration has closed, LSYS is unable to refund the $3 transaction fee. To request more information about registration fees and scholarships, please email [email protected]

When will practices and games be held?

You can expect 2 one-hour practices during the week (Monday-Friday). T-Ball practices and games will most likely run a bit shorter.

Games will be held on weekday evenings also. We will hold practices more frequently at the beginning of the season, leading up to fewer practices and more games at the end of the season.

Once the season begins, specific schedules for practices and games will be available on the secure Team Central section (must be logged on to access) on our website or the
GameChanger app. There are no games or practices on Memorial Day.

It is up to the coach's discretion to hold or cancel practice in the heat or rain. However, all outdoor activities are suspended until lightning is no longer present. The league and coaches will do their best to reschedule canceled games due to the weather. If a player is unable to attend a practice or game please let your coach know.

The 2026 season is still being determined, but we anticipate it will begin May 18th and run through June 26th.

We are excited to announce an end of season celebration at a Spokane Indians Game on Wednesday June 24th @ 6:35 PM. We have reserved an entire section for players and families. The Spokane Indians have offered us discounted tickets, $7/player and $9.80 for family and friends. It is also a discounted food night - hot dogs, Pepsi drinks and Ice cream sandwiches for $2 each! Transportation will be the responsibility of the families as the league is not able to accommodate transportation for all players.

Where are the fields located?

The Nine Mile School District has given permission for the league to use their fields for practices and games. Please note that the fields are not available for our use during school hours or during other teams’ practices/games. If a field is not in use outside of these times, then you are welcome to play on them. LSYS is a guest of these fields, so please remember that you are on school property when using the fields. Please pick-up any trash and rake the fields after each use.

There is a FIELD MAP on the Team Central tab of this website.

Nine Mile Falls Elementary: Baseball field located on southwest side of school; 10102 W Charles Rd, Nine Mile Falls, WA

Lake Spokane Elementary: Baseball field located on southeast side of school; 6015 WA-291, Nine Mile Falls, WA

Lakeside Middle School: Baseball fields located on north side of school: 6169 WA-291, Nine Mile Falls, WA

Lakeside High School: Baseball fields located on south side of school; 5909 WA-291, Nine Mile Falls, WA

Will there be team pictures?

We are so excited to welcome Emily Mikkelsen Photography back to take individual and team photos. Look for more information to come, but we anticipate pictures will be taken the first week of June.

How can I get involved as a coach or volunteer?

LSYSA is fully run by volunteers. Keeping a multi-sports league going is a year-round effort that takes many skills and hands to run. LSYSA is led by a board of primary members and teams of volunteers helping run each sports division. We are more short-handed than ever and are seeking NEW Board Members--please consider volunteering (send us an email at your earliest convenience).

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, coach, umpire and/or grounds/court keepers please sign up on the volunteer roles section of the online registration form or contact us at [email protected]

Coaches and Assistant Coaches will have a background check processed by the Washington State Patrol WATCH program.

LSYSA is a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) and is always accepting and appreciative of monetary, equipment and merchandise donations.

I’m registered, now what?!

Welcome to the LSYSA league! After registration closes, our volunteer coordinators run background checks, create teams with balanced players (gender, age, skill level), and order uniforms. Automated emails are sent from the system once team assignments are completed. Coaches will contact the parents with information about initial practice plans, etc. While you wait for more information from your team's coach, download the GameChanger app and start filling out your profile and taking note of scheduled practices and games. You’ll be able to see who is on your child’s team. Get to know everyone so that you have a fun season playing baseball!

Uniforms are ordered within a few days of registration closing so please contact us directly at [email protected] if you have questions.

2026 LSYS Baseball and Softball

Lake Spokane Youth Sports (LSYS) Baseball and Softball is a recreational co-ed league for kids who are 4-years-old through 12-years-old (through 6th grade). Our goal is for local kids to have fun learning and playing baseball without traveling too far from home. Cost is $70 for the first child and then $65 for each additional sibling; the $5 discounts will be calculated automatically during check-out (registration includes uniform). If your child needs financial support to play, we do offer scholarships; please send us an email at [email protected]. Our goal is for every child to have an equal opportunity to play sports!

Tee Ball is an entry-level division designed to introduce players to baseball. Batters hit off a tee at home plate and then run between bases positioned 50 feet apart. Recommended ages are 4 and 5 years old. Games are usually 3 innings with a maximum time of 60 minutes.

Coach Pitch allows players to bat a baseball that is safely pitched by their own coach. For players on the border between Tee Ball and Coach Pitch, we recommend one year of Tee Ball before Coach Pitch, but parents may use their own discretion. Recommended ages are 6 and 7 years old. Games are usually five to six innings with a maximum time of 90 minutes

Player Pitch is designed for kids typically ages 8-12, is traditional Little League-style baseball where a player serves as the pitcher. We have divided this Division into two groups: (1) 8-10 year olds and (2) 10-12 year olds. Games are usually five to six innings with a maximum time of 120 minutes.
