Elite S.C. is proud to welcome John Coumbe-Lilley to the staff. John is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology & Nutrition at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is an AASP certified and practicing sports psychology consultant. He played and coached international rugby league and rugby union and has coached and consulted at the community, state and national levels in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States in soccer, rugby, swimming, and tennis. His sport psychology experience includes NCAA teams; Team USA Vancouver Olympics, USA Rugby, Rugby Canada, and Fortune 1000 companies. John holds the NSCAA Premier Diploma and USSF B license. John has published several articles on mental skills training and the integration of mental and physical/technical training for soccer.

John is focusing his initial efforts with the Elite S.C. high school girls athletes and coaches around these areas:

delivers mental skills training and goal setting expertise to Elite S.C. athletes and coaches.

Stein Garcia, Director of Coaching, agrees. “John and I both share the same passion, which is to help today’s youth develop the skills and mindset to grow into successful, resilient athletes and leaders,” he says. “I have worked with John over the years and I can’t think of a better person to assist Elite S.C. players and coaches reach individual and team goals.”
