Last Tuesday, the Variety Boys & Girls Club honored prominent Club Alum Milko Campusano at a cocktail style reception benefitingthe children of the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens.
The intimate fifty person event was held at the Microsoft Office in Times Square, Manhattan.
Variety's Executive Director, Matt Troy, opened up the night by sharing the exciting new programs that the Club is now offering. "We're really expanding our programs at our Club and at new program sites," he exclaimed to the attendees.
Troy then introduced Variety Hall of Fame inductee, Milko Campusano.
Campusano is a club alumnus, long-time supporter, and member of VBGCQ’s Board of Directors.
“Only after my son Matteo was born, did I understand what the club provides to families. Those days of worry - what is my son doing, how is my son interacting with others, how is my son going to improve his skills in a fun, safe environment. The Club helps the many parents that have these same questions,” said Campusano.
Campusano also serves on the Board's Fundraising Committee and is Chair of a focus group that will launch the Club’s new health and wellness program.
The induction ceremony was wrapped up by Board Chair, Walter Sanchez, who thanked Troy, Campusano, the Board, and all the attendees for their unwavering support. "May we keep empowering the youth of our community to make good choices and chase their dreams," said Sanchez, as the event moved outside to enjoy Microsoft's rooftop lounge space, showcasing incredible views of Manhattan's skyline.
