SOFTBALL BASICS PROGRAM- 2026

This program is a 2 day camp for T-Ball aged Softball players (5 & 6 year olds as of Jan. 1) and 8U players (7 & 8 year olds as of Jan. 1). The camp is geared toward the teaching and proper instruction of Softball related skills

designed for young softball/t-ball players.

SOFTBALL BASICS HAS 2 GOALS:

To instruct YOUNG PLAYERS how to properly hit, throw, field and catch a ball using proven developmental drills, methods and techniques.
To provide PARENTS/ADULTS with the knowledge, methods, and drills associated with hitting, throwing fielding and catching a softball (and yes... Softball skills/techniques are different than baseball!)

It is our plan that by LEARNING SOFTBALL SKILLS CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME, each player will thrive on the Softball/T-Ball field and not have to relearn skills!

Dates (2): Sun., Jan. 25, 2026 and Sun. Feb. 1, 2026

T-Ball: 2:00 pm - 3:15 pm
8U: 3:30 pm - 4:45 pm

Instructors: PYSO & PISD Softball Coaches & LadyCat Softball Players

Location: Palestine ISD Indoor Athletic Facility

Benbrook and Loop 256

(Metal Building between the Baseball Field and Wildcat Football Stadium)

Note: Park on Benbrook; do not park in front of the Fire Station.

Bring: Players should bring their glove and bat (if available), water bottle, and good attitude!

Parents/Adults:

Parents and Adults will not be allowed inside the facility but will be provided a good location to watch/learn/listen.
PYSO & PISD Coaches will take the time to speak to the parents/adults to provide them with proper coaching techniques, information

and the teaching of overall developmental skills.

The drills/skills/information provided at these camps should help coaches and parents work with their own players and give all adults the

confidence and tools necessary to VOLUNTEER TO COACH!
