Laws & Rules of the Game for LCYSA
LCYSA follows Local Laws, the NMYSA bylaws and rules as well as the USYS national guidelines.

The NMYSA General Procedures and Rules define and regulate items such as Duration of Games and Ball Specifications (3.10), Rules of Play (3.11- uniform conflicts, substitutions, minimum number of players, forfeiture, referee responsibilities,…), Age Limits and Age Groups (3.03), Registration (3.05), Player Releases & Transfers (3.14), and much more.

The table included gives an overview of each age group format. To enlarge, right click the image and select Open Image in New Tab.

The Local Laws cover LCYSA's specific modification of the FIFA’s Laws including:
Law 2 – The ball is supplied by the home team
Law 3 – number of players, rosters, player pass cards and substitutions
Law 4 – player’s equipment
Law 7 – mercy rule for the duration of the game
Law 8 – minimum number of players to start and continue a game
Law 12 – fouls and misconduct

ALL head coaches, assistant coaches and game managers must have and wear their coach card, badge, credential in a sleeve and on a lanyard. The reason for this is to show to all involved in LCYSA, which adults are registered, vetted and cleared to be working with youth. For U8 & younger, any Board Member or staff of LCYSA may stop play or allow a game to begin without the credential being visible. For U9 & older, any referee will not allow play to begin without credentials being visible.
