Schedule Policies
The rules and policies on this page govern LCYSA activities related to soccer field usage and game scheduling mandated to us by the rules, policies and laws of the City of Las Cruces, New Mexico Youth Soccer Association and United States Youth Soccer Association. Many deal with insurance and liabilities of all parties involved and it is essential that every LCYSA team strictly follow the policies below.

All use of the High Noon, Burn Lake, Provencio Van Dame or Tashiro soccer complexes by a LCYSA team for a soccer related activity, such as games among teams or soccer camps, requires approval by the LCYSA BoD. Every game to be played at these complexes has to be scheduled by the LCYSA scheduler. Please note that team practices on these complexes are forbidden.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Inclement Weather Policy
All scheduled games will be played regardless of rain, snow or wind unless notified by the City of Las Cruces or LCYSA directly.

City of Las Cruces Lightning Guidelines Policy

  • If there is a lightning strike within a 10 mile radius, the area must be cleared and the appropriate shelter must be sought.
  • The center referee and head coaches are responsible for accurate monitoring of the weather and the decision to seek shelter.
  • Seeking shelter is an immediate action. Picking up equipment or other non-essential items, meandering, slow walking or any other unnecessary delay in getting to shelter must be strictly discouraged.
  • Appropriate shelter that is safe from a lightning strike is anywhere indoors, inside a vehicle or an area that has been designated and certified as a grounded lightning safe structure.
  • Areas to avoid are underneath bleachers, an open shed, tents or canopies, metal building structures, trees, poles, metal fences and standing water. These areas should not be used as shelters.
  • A safe return can only be made once the system has clearly passed from the area and no lightning strikes within 10 miles have occurred within 30 minutes.
  • The center referee is responsible for when to restart.
  • If play is unable to resume and the game has not started or was stopped in the first half, the game will be rescheduled.
  • If one half of play was completed, the game will be considered official and final.
  • In the event of any other weather, the referee also has the discretion to cancel the game.

Rescheduling / Cancelling Game Policy
Please note: Your game may be changed due to referee availability. It is not advisable to move a game to an earlier date for the U9 & Older age groups due to referee availability/notification. Your flexibility with this issue is greatly appreciated.

Teams that request for a match to be rescheduled within 3 days of kickoff will be subject to a $25 reschedule fee.
