For decades, BRYC has been a home for youth sports in our community. BRYC Girls Flag is the next chapter: a dedicated league where girls can compete, grow, and lead with confidence.
BRYC (Braddock Road Youth Club) is a community-based, volunteer-led organization that has served families in our area for generations through soccer, basketball, flag football, and more.
From the beginning, BRYC has stood for kids first. Our programs are built so every child—no matter their background, experience level, or skill—has a place to play, grow, and feel like they belong.
Our coed flag football program has become one of the largest in the region because families know what to expect: safe, organized, and fun game days; coaches who care; and a community that cheers for effort, respect, and sportsmanship just as much as touchdowns.
BRYC is powered by volunteer parents and community members who give their time, energy, and heart so that every child can step on the field feeling supported.
When families talk about BRYC, they rarely start with the score. They talk about:
Girls in our community—and across the country—are making it clear: they want to play football, they want to compete, and they want a place that takes them seriously as athletes and leaders. BRYC Girls Flag is our answer.
Girls’ flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, with participation surging as more leagues and schools open their doors. BRYC Girls Flag creates a girls-only league right here at home—so players don’t have to be the only girl on a team or wait for a turn. They get their own teams, their own huddles, and their own game days built around them.
Years of coed flag have shown us the “BRYC recipe” for something special: safety, fun, and community woven together with clear standards and caring adults. In BRYC Girls Flag, we apply that same proven model specifically for girls—so they can build leadership, teamwork, resilience, and character in an environment where their voice is heard and their effort is celebrated.
Across the country, girls’ flag football is becoming a sanctioned high school sport, college programs and scholarships are emerging, and the sport is headed to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. By launching BRYC Girls Flag now, we’re giving local players a runway—from their first snap, to high school teams, to future college opportunities—while building skills that translate on and off the field.
We measure success in more than wins and losses. We look at who our players are becoming—and how they carry themselves in the classroom, at home, and in their community.
Thoughtful rules, trained referees, and clear expectations create a safe space to learn and compete. Our volunteers are background-checked, and our coaches are taught to value player wellness and development above the scoreboard.
Laughter in warmups, high-fives after big plays, team rituals, themed days, and championship moments—our league is designed so girls can fall in love with the game and look forward to every practice and game day.
Players learn how to communicate, lead, handle adversity, and support each other. They see women and men volunteering side by side, modeling leadership and service, and they feel what it’s like to be surrounded by people who believe in them.
Because girls in our community deserve more than a spot on a roster—they deserve a league that was built with them in mind from day one. A place where they can compete hard, laugh often, grow in confidence, and step into leadership with a whole community behind them.
