BAYFL offers a safe, developmental football program focused on fundamentals, sportsmanship, and fun for kids in Berks County and surrounding areas.

π8th Graders are not allowed to play for BAYFL. They must play for the middle school team.
π Game Schedule Basics

Flag: Sundays at 11:30 AM, occasionally Saturdays at 9:30 AM

JV (all levels): Saturdays starting at 10:30 AM

Varsity (all levels): Sundays starting at 12:30 PM
Games will not start later than 9:00 PM.

Valid birth certificate with seal

Player name, date of birth, and school district must be recorded accurately on team rosters
π Attendance Requirements

Players must attend at least 4 practices before their first game to be eligible to play.

Players must participate in a minimum of 50% of practices to be eligible to play in games (with exceptions allowed for illness, injury, or family emergency).

Absences may affect playing time and postseason eligibility.
β οΈ Gameplay Highlights

JV players must play a minimum of 6 plays per game (excluding special teams).

Varsity players cannot play in JV games.

Mercy Rule may apply to allow a continuous clock when the score gap is significant.

Overtime follows standard PIAA rules.

Playoffs: All teams are included; top Varsity teams in each division advance to Championships.
π§ Coaching & Safety

All coaches must be certified (includes training in concussion, heat safety, and CPR/AED).

No uncertified adults are allowed on the field or sidelines during games.

Each team is encouraged to assign a Player Safety Coach (PSC).
π Postseason

All teams qualify for league playoffs.

Top 2 Varsity teams in each division move on to the Championship Game.

Championship locations rotate annually.
π« Code of Conduct

Poor sportsmanship by players, coaches, or spectators may result in suspension or removal.

Ejections carry a 1-week suspension.
-
A second ejection = suspension for the remainder of the season.
