π£ BAYCL Cheerleading β What Parents Need to Know
As a parent signing up your child for BAYCL cheer, here are the key things youβll want to know:
π― Cheerleading Levels (by Grade & Age)

Mighty Mites | 1stβ2nd Grade | Must not turn 8 before 9/1 |

Midgets | 5thβ6th Grade | Must not turn 12 before 9/1 |
π 7th graders are not allowed to cheer in BAYCL. They must cheer for the middle school team.

Attendance Expectations
- Cheerleaders must attend at least 80% of football games to be eligible to compete.
- Must stay through halftime for the game to count.
- Medical exceptions are allowed with a doctor's note.
- Cheerleaders are expected to perform in all weather conditions unless games are officially canceled by BAYFL.
π Paperwork Requirements
- Must submit:
- Birth certificate
- Report card
- Due before the September meeting or your child will be ineligible for competition.
π Where Your Child Can Cheer
- Must cheer for the organization that covers your home address.
- If your school district doesn't offer a team, you can request approval to join another BAYCL squad.
π Competition Rules
- 36 cheerleader limit on the mat per performance.
- Teams may be split into small (β€15) and large (16β36) divisions.
- Routines are capped at 2 minutes, 30 seconds.
- Stunts must follow USA Cheer, UCA, and NFHS rules.
π« No pendulums or basket tosses allowed.

- Each organization must have at least one USA Cheer-certified adult.
- Certification proof is due by the August meeting.
